Anne Frank was a thirteen year old girl who lived in a secret annex inside her family's home in Amsterdam during World War II. Her family hid for two years before they were discovered and arrested by the Nazis.

Her father survived, and as a legacy to Anne and a reminder of the horrible treatment the Jewish people were shown by the authorities, her father published the diary she kept to amuse herself during hiding. The book, The Diary of Anne Frank is one of the most important accounts of life during the war.

The Anne Frank Museum is dedicated to telling Anne's story. Inside the Frank family home, you can view her original diary and the secret annex where she lived for two years before being discovered.

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam is the World's largest collection of Vincent Van Gogh's work, including 200 paintings, 437 drawings and 31 prints. The museum also has a great collection of 19th Century art.
