Anne Frank was a thirteen year old girl who lived in a secret annex inside her family's home in Amsterdam during World War II. Her family hid for two years before they were discovered and arrested by the Nazis.Unfortunately, most of the Frank family died during the war, including Anne herself. Her father survived, and as a legacy to Anne and a reminder of the horrible treatment the Jewish people were shown by the authorities, her father published the diary she kept to amuse herself during hiding. The book, The Diary of Anne Frank is one of the most important accounts of life during the war.
