Renting a good apartment in Valencia Spain

Is renting an apartment better than staying in a hotel? There are a few advantages and I'll start with the obvious ones.

The cost
Renting an apartment can be very cost effective especially if you are in a group - 4 or 5 people for example. Whereas you usually pay per night in a hotel an apartment offers just one rate based on days, weeks or months. So you see apartment renting can prove more cost effective than a hotel room.

Accomodation
If you decide to pay for a hotel room, that is usually what you get - just a room! Ok, it's usually a nice room with a nice bathroom etc. On the other hand renting an apartment can be quite a step up depending on the type of apartment you are renting. For example, you will usually have one or two bedrooms or in some cases three, you'll also have a fully equipped kitchen with all mod cons and a living room with TV etc.

Best of all you'll have space. Lot's of space can be priceless especially if you've got children. Think about the weather for example - renting an apartment gives you the chance to take it easy on rainy days. Just think about it - you'll have room to move and breathe and nobody is treading on each others' toes, something that's quite impossible in a hotel room I'm sure you'll agree.

Have you ever ended up staying in your hotel room because the weather has been too awful to venture outside? If you answered 'yes' then I'm quite sure an apartment would have been more comfortable, wouldn't it?

Other services and amenities
It is true, renting an apartment can offer other advantages too. Some apartments offer gardens to relax in on lazy summer days whilst others have swimming pools, gymnasiums and saunas. Granted, some of these amenities are available to hotels and the more up-market you go the more services and amenities you'll have available. What is different about an apartment though is that these things are generally much closer to you and generally less crowded.

Summing Up
To sum up it's a case of paying the money and taking one's choice. The advantages of renting an apartment over a hotel room are quite clear but it's a wise choice to book an apartment - a choice that many people have never regretted and a choice that is repeated time and again. Valencia in Spain has become one of the latest in European cities to embrace the new apartment renting fashion. Renting an apartment in Valencia can be a great way to escape the cold weather, for those short or weekend breaks and those romantic weekend getaways.

France Study Abroad 2006 - Valencia

This is part of a series of videos documenting my study abroad semester in Europe during the fall of 2006. This episode presents Valencia, located about three hours down the coast from Barcelona, a rapidly growing city that has recently put itself on the map with Antonio Calatrava's incredible City of Arts and Sciences. Also host to the 2007 America's Cup, Valencia is quickly becoming a world-class city, and this video tour offers an idea of what this formerly sleepy little town might ...

Why Visit Valencia in Spain

Valencia is Spain's third largest city, after Madrid and Barcelona. It has one of the largest tourist influxes in Spain and it is famous all around the world because of Las Fallas festival. It has 470km of coastline with beautiful beaches and a nice Mediterranean climate throughout the year.

In addition, it has always been a city full of art, leaving us the legacy of great artists such as Ribera, Sorolla, Calatrava or Marshal.

Every single corner in Valencia is charming, especially the famous El Carmen´s neighbourhood. El Carmen is the historic center of the city: in its streets the most Bohemian traditions are mixed up with the latest trends. For those who love partying, El Carmen neighbourhood is full of places to go: enjoy the Valencian night under the moonlight in one of its beautiful terraces, have a coffee at mid-afternoon surrounded by friends, satisfies your appetite in one of the delicious restaurants in the area or dance all the night in an avant-garde nightclub.

Besides the El Carmen's neighbourhood, there are other areas to enjoy of the Valencian night: the Avenida de Aragón, the la Plaza de Canovas, the Avenida Blasco Ibáñez, the Plaza de Honduras, the Plaza Xúquer or the Plaza Juan Llorens. In summer the party moves to the Paseo Neptuno and the beaches areas.

We can not talk about holidays in Valencia without mentioning Las Fallas. They are one of the most famous, vibrant, quaint and noisy festivals in Spain. The fires, along with the fireworks and rockets take the streets by force as it were. The origins of the Fallas Festival goes back to an old tradition of the city's carpenters, who before the Festivity of their patron Saint Joseph, burned in front of their workshops on the streets , their useless things during the winter season. This is the reason why the night of the cremà (in which the Fallas monuments are burned down) is always on March 19th, the Festivity of San José. For five days, castles, the monuments Falleros and the Mascletàs, mixed with the smell of gunpowder and sweet fragrances of flowers. Las Fallas are one of the most important and spectacular street festivals in the world that nobody should miss.
Renting an apartment in Valencia would be a great way to see the city and join in with the partying.
