... PAUL (means small, little)

... Nearly all the original materials for the life St. Paul are contained in the Acts of the Apostles and in the Pauline epistles. Paul was born in Tarsus, a city of Cilicia. (It is not improbable that he was born between A.D. 0 and A.D. 5.) Up to the time of his going forth as an avowed preacher of Christ to the Gentiles, the apostle was known by the name of Saul. This was the Jewish name which he received from his Jewish parents. But though a Hebrew of the Hebrews, he was born in a Gentile city.

.Apostle Paul Life - How Did The Man Live?

SEVEN REASONS TO LOVE THE APOSTLE PAUL

SEVEN REASONS TO LOVE THE APOSTLE PAUL
The essence of the life of the Apostle Paul In the Bible is revealed in Acts 20:18-38. Let us take a brief look.

1.  He was faithful

Act 20:18  And when they had come, he said to them, You yourselves have seen what my life has been like all the time from the day when I first came into Asia,

2. He was humble.

Act 20:19  Doing the Lord's work without pride, through all the sorrow and troubles which came on me because of the evil designs of the Jews: Act 20:20  And how I kept back nothing which might be of profit to you, teaching you publicly and privately,

3. He was compassionate.

Act 20:21  Preaching to Jews and to Greeks the need for a turning of the heart to God, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

4. He was determined to preach.

Act 20:22  And now, as you see, I am going to Jerusalem, a prisoner in spirit, having no knowledge of what will come to me there:  Act 20:23  Only that the Holy Spirit makes clear to me in every town that prison and pains are waiting for me. Act 20:24  But I put no value on my life, if only at the end of it I may see the work complete which was given to me by the Lord Jesus, to be a witness of the good news of the grace of God.  Act 20:25  And now I am conscious that you, among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom, will not see my face again.
5. He had a clear conscience.

Act 20:26  And so I say to you this day that I am clean from the blood of all men. Act 20:27  For I have not kept back from you anything of the purpose of God.

6. He was a pastor/shepherd.

Act 20:28  Give attention to yourselves, and to all the flock which the Holy Spirit has given into your care, to give food to the church of God, for which he gave his blood.  Act 20:29  I am conscious that after I am gone, evil wolves will come in among you, doing damage to the flock;  Act 20:30  And from among yourselves will come men who will give wrong teaching, turning away the disciples after them.  Act 20:31  So keep watch, having in mind that for three years without resting I was teaching every one of you, day and night, with weeping.  Act 20:32  And now, I give you into the care of God and the word of his grace, which is able to make you strong and to give you your heritage among all the saints.  Act 20:33  I have had no desire for any man's silver or gold or clothing. ...
Act 20:34  You yourselves have seen that with these hands I got what was necessary for me and those who were with me.  Act 20:35  In all things I was an example to you of how, in your lives, you are to give help to the feeble, and keep in memory the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, There is a greater blessing in giving than in getting.  Act 20:36  And having said these words, he went down on his knees in prayer with them all.

7. He was loved.

Act 20:37  And they were all weeping, falling on Paul's neck and kissing him,  Act 20:38  Being sad most of all because he had said that they would not see his face again. And so they went with him to the ship.

Paul on liberty in Christ and the law of the O.T.

The Healing Presence of God's Love: God's love as a healing presence in the world is growing stronger daily. Many people are not yet able to perceive this growing presence of light, ecause there also exists at this time a thick cloud of negative energy that is surrounding the Earth. This acts to obscure both the perception and the consciousness of people, and to create feelings of isolation and despair.

Oher Lens . links on Bible Characters

Peter In The Bible - Apostle Peter the Man
This lens deals with the life of the Apostle Simon Barjona Peter (Rock). It is filled with links and resources to the life and the death of Saint Peter. Making Peter a model for Christians may sound extraordinary at first because the gospels relate many of the examples of Peter's faithlessness.
King David History - Biblical David
This lens is tribute to Biblical David. David was, according to the Bible a man after God's own heart. What I like most about him was that he was far from perfect but teaches us through his life that, if we stay with the right attotude and don't give up, we can all achieve!
Moses In The Bible - Biblical Moses
This lens is a tribute to the meekest man who ever lived... "Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth." (Numbers 12.3 KJV) We will include many links in this retelling of the Moses Story.
Abraham In Bible
There is a good reason the Abraham is called "Father of the faith!" Abraham is one of the most exceptional individuals of the Old Testament. The Bible says God actually visited him in his home, spoke to him face-to-face, and even reckoned him as His friend.
Free Sermon Outlines
Many sermon links and resources!
Salt of the Earth
This lens deals with the Bible words of Jesus, 'Ye are the salt of the earth' Could you say that you are 'Worth your Salt?' This is a fascinating term full of meaning. Centuries ago salt was so precious that numerous people used to have part of their wages in salt.
Love Really THAT Important?! 1Corinthians 13:13
Christians all over the world speak, preach, teach and extol
the virtues of love. However, sometimes I
wonder if our gonging sounds are just that.

    Paul is great. Why?
"The good that I want, I don't do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want...
Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from this body of death?
That's be to God! Through Jesus Christ our Lord!..
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus." Rom. 7:19,24-25,8:1
So I love the Jesus that Paul preached. The One who forgave my sins.
    Great lens.

    Jesus words in Mat 24:23

"if "any man" shall say unto you, here is Christ...he is "in the desert"; believe it not."

Jesus says, if anyone claims to have seen him they are lying because when he returns, it will be obvious to everyone.

Where was it Paul claims that Jesus appeared to him? On the road to Damascus..."In the desert!"

    Paul's own words in 2 Tim 1:15

"all they which are in Asia" be turned away from me"

Acts 21:27,28...the Judeans which were of "Asia"...This is the man, that teaches all men every where against the people, and the law"

The only Church in Asia there is a record of Paul visiting in the bible is Ephesus.

Rev 1:11 and send it unto the seven churches "which are in Asia"; unto Ephesus,

Rev 2:2 I know thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil... "them which say they are apostles" and are not, and hast found them liars:

Jesus just applauded the Ephesians for rejecting false apostles and Paul admitted all the churches in Asia rejected him.

We just finished doing a 5 week study on Paul in our kids' chapel. He was a very special, dedicated person. I doubt that many of us would have kept preaching about Jesus if we went through just HALF of what he did.
