Applause for A Chorus Line

"It was the stitching together of all its elements in that purest of theatrical areas, a deep and empty stage, by its director-choreographer that made A Chorus Line so thrilling to its audience."

A Chorus Line

The story of a dancer's life

A Chorus Line provides insight of the life of a dancer. The audience watches as dancers audition for a new Broadway show. The audience is pulled into the emotions surrounding a directors decision to eliminate seventeen auditioning dancers to a final group. These dancers stories are the main focus of A Chorus Line.
The audience watches the relationship between the director, the choreographer, and the auditioning dancers. The dancers share their stories with song and dance. All while, the audience knows that only a few dancers, four boys and four girls, will be asked to join the Broadway show. Throughout this the audience is introduced to the director's former love, Cassie. Cassie returned to the theatre and director she once performed for in hopes to audition again. The director, choreographer, Cassie, the seventeen dancers, and the audience all began to form a strong bond. A Chorus Line is a celebration of the love of song and dance.

Applause for Michael Bennett

Michael Bennett, the visionary/creator of A Chorus Line. He wanted to honor a dancer's life with his production. Michael began his career as a dancer in early '60s musicals. A love for dance moved him into his role of choreographer. He choreographed star performances in Promises, Promises, Coco, Company, Follies, and Seesaw. He then created his masterpiece, A Chorus Line.

"Wicked" is my favorite though "Chorus Line" and "Cats" are right up there too. I've seen "Wicked" in Chicago and also the touring company. Amazing performance both times. I'd love to see it on Broadway.

Oh... hmm... That's a trick question! I have so many favorites! Probably RENT, though I'm incredibly excited that Newsies has just been made into a stage show! Also anything with Kristin Chenoweth in it as someone might be able to tell from the lens I did as a tribute to her work! Love the lens!
