Apple Cider Vinegar - The Natural Cure For Almost Anything

Apple Cider Vinegar

I am seriously addicted to apple cider vinegar!

Not in a "tried to make me go to rehab, I said, 'no no no'" kind of way, but in a "wow, this stuff is amazing and I've never felt better!" kind of way.

Apple cider vinegar, as the title suggests, is a natural cure for almost anything and it really works!

Here I will be discussing the benefits I've found from using apple cider vinegar as well as many other reputed claims for its uses.

I would love to hear of any results anyone else has had with taking ACV.

My mission, and I've definitely chosen to accept it, is to educate everybody on the wonderful benefits of apple cider vinegar and make the world a happier, healthier place...

My Discovery of Apple Cider Vinegar

type=textI first heard about apple cider vinegar a couple of years ago, when a friend of mine got a book called "101 Uses for Vinegar" for christmas. We laughed, thinking it was a bit of a lame gift, but soon we'd finished it and were at the supermarket shopping for all the different types of vinegar we could find! I think the girl on the checkout thought we were a bit strange...

Anyway, the one vinegar that stood out to us was, of course, apple cider vinegar. The book had whole sections on beauty and health and this vinegar was supposedly the cure for any slight cough, blemish or pretty much any ailment you could imagine!

We were avid consumers for about two months before falling off the wagon and getting distracted and during that time we didn't really notice much difference (we both felt like we were a bit more energetic).

It was only a few months ago when I re-discovered ACV.

I'd managed to get a wart on my foot (gross I know) and was looking for natural cures when, lo and behold, there was ACV listed as a remedy! I sniffed around the site a bit more and found it listed again and again for such a variety of things I started to think, "Why the heck did I stop taking this stuff?!"

Seriously, a more pessimistic person than me would probably think it was impossible for it to be a cure for so much stuff, but I'm a 'glass is half full' kinda girl and I was in awe!

Needless to say I bought some straight away (with the mother in it i.e. unpasteurised) and have been taking it religiously for about a month and a half now...

I can see "Vinegar: Over 400 Various, Versatile, and Very Good Uses You've Probably Never Thought Of" becoming one of those staple books you have in the house that you just keep referring back to time and time again - definitely a must-buy.

How I Use It

type=textThere are many different ways to use ACV, depending on what you want to use it for.

Generally I take it twice a day as a health-promoting tonic.

I mix 2 tablespoons of ACV into 250ml of water, then add a quarter teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda (known as baking soda in the USA I think) and give it a really good stir.

This gives me two glasses of ACV tonic and I tend to drink one in the morning before breakfast and one in the evening after dinner. I add the bicarbonate of soda to neutralize the acidity of the vinegar so that it doesn't damage my teeth or upset my stomach and I think it tastes just like tangy apple juice!

I also use it daily as a facial toner. I already had a tea tree toner in a spray bottle that was almost done, so I just added a bit of ACV to it and I spritz it on my face morning and night.

For the verrucca on my foot I soaked a tiny square of kitchen towel in ACV, then placed it over the little sucker and taped it in place using duct tape.

I left this on for about 4 days and when I took it off the middle of the wart just kind of fell out and was dark brown (eww), I should also mention that it smelt pretty bad too.

I had a little crater in my foot for a little while, which I exfoliated to smooth the skin back to normal. It took about a week overall with minor tingling sensations but no pain and no sign of it on my foot now!

What I've Found Since Taking Apple Cider Vinegar

Since resuming my apple cider vinegar consumption and general use, I have found several things:

Greatly increased energy
A feeling of vitality and well-being
Clearer, glowing skin
All hayfever symptoms have disappeared
Wart on foot has disappeared
Better digestion (less bloating)
Decreased appetite for a few hours after consumption

Bear in mind that I've only been taking it for a month and a half and was generally healthy to start with. I will add to this list as more results arise!
