Apple Mac Mini MC936LLA Review

For music production, I've been struggling using a Windows platform for 4 years. Despite the fact that I just bought a brand new core i5 computer last year, I had troubles with USB devices disappearing or hanging, sound disappearing, and Ableton Live crashing. Windows also has a factor about computer software taking manage with the sound program, so I was restricted about which applications could be open simultaneously.

I lastly decided to try a Mac, and have never looked back. Instead of a giant box beneath the desk, I've a tiny tiny silver ingot that sits on the desktop. No a lot more USB concerns, Ableton Reside runs like a champ, and Lion is a superb platform. I purchased the Lion Server for the more rapidly processor, but I don't use any in the server capabilities. Because then I've maxed out the RAM at 8GB. What a terrific acquire!

The Lion server I bought (in the Apple retailer) came with HDMI to DVI converter. That is excellent, since it frees up the Thunderport for another monitor or difficult drive. I'm using dual monitors, and my second one particular is VGA, so I bought Thunderport/mini-Displayport to VGA adaptor. At times, when the Mac wakes back up, the 2nd monitor does not wake up (doesn't seem to be a hardware dilemma). If I adjust the resolution and put it back, it recognizes the display once again. But everything else is so considerably far better than the glitches I had to cope with on my Windows method that I'm okay with that. Sound works all of the time, irrespective of which applications are open simultaneously. They all play together.
