- Think of it this way: Microsoft is like the Budweiser of beer. Brewed for mass appeal and can fit in almost any situation. Apple is like a craft beer, so you pay a premium for the more attention the product receives. When Apple moved off PowerPC and on to Intel architecture however its the equivalent of their craft beer using the exact same recipe as the Budweiser beer. Only Apple still markets and tries to act like they are a unique snowflake craft beer.
