Apple iPhone

The iPhone has revolutionized the way smartphones are being rolled out to the market. The combination of devices in conjunction with the multi touch touchscreen have made the iPhone one of the most coveted pieces of technology in recent years. I have compiled some information about the iPhone that you should know before buying your next smartphone.

Quick and Easy iPhone App Troubleshooter

With the preponderance of new iPhone apps infiltrating the market, it's only natural that many could be riddled with bugs, some even going so far as to crash on you each time you try to use them.

When you encounter an iPhone app that's causing you trouble, the first recommended step is to restart your iPhone, just like you would with a PC (or Mac) desktop or laptop that's giving you trouble. If the app is so problematic that it prevents you from even restarting your iPhone normally, then simultaneously hold down the Power and Home buttons and you'll force a restart.

If that doesn't solve the problem, check for updates to the app that's causing you problems. Often the bugs "infecting" you have already been identified and fixed, and all you need to do is download and install the updated version to get the app working smoothly.

If neither of these tips work, it may be time for you to delete the app. Just make sure to do it on both your iPhone and iTunes.

GoogleEarth Navigates its Way to the iPhone

GoogleEarth widget makes it to the iPhone before the new Google G1 phone.

Check this out - just after Google released its Google Android mobile operating system, a new contender in the so-far ineffective race to top the iPhone, Goolge makes one of its most popular offerings available for use on its new leading competitor's device.

The offering: GoogleEarth. And the newest platform supporting it: the iPhone. In a classic case of two great tastes tasting great together, Apple devotees users can now access GoogleEarth from their iPhones as well as their iPod Touches, downloadable through the iTunes Store.

GoogleEarth is the revered 3D geospatial mapping tool that superimposes aerial photography and satellite imagery to come up with the most accurate, interactive, and localized mapping tool available to date.

One feature that the iPhone brings to GoogleEarth is its deft and dexterous multi-touch interface, making interaction with the popular program even easier than ever.

The funniest part of all this? GoogleEarth has yet to be made available on the HTC G1, the first Google Phone. How backwards is that?

The iPhone is Calling You

The telephone - it's not just for making calls anymore. With the introduction of the Apple iPhone the startling range of functions available to the person on-the-go has hit unprecedented new heights.

The iPhone's key innovation is its pioneering touch screen, giving users an ease-of-use and versatility unparalleled in history of mobile phones, portable devices, and all other consumer electronics. A 3.5" screen with 480x320 pixel resolution, it has a built-in 'accelerometer' that detects when you rotate the device and automatically switches between portrait view and landscape view in a single smooth motion without any distortion of text or image. Its predictive, soft keypad has support for simultaneous display of multiple languages and characters. It even

Mac and Windows compatible, the iPhone is 4.5" high, 2.4" wide, .46" thick, and weighs just 4.8 ounces. It runs on the same world-class OS X operating system you have on your Mac desktop or laptop, giving you the most comprehensive software capabilities available on any hand held device. The iPhone can even multitask, allowing you to use several programs simultaneously, for example: talking on the phone while you search for directions, all the while downloading a song in the background.

The iPhone runs on a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery with up to 8 hours talk time, 6 hours internet use, 7 hours video playback, 24 hours audio playback, and 250 hours standby time. A built-in proximity sensor detects when you raise the iPhone to your ear and automatically switches off the display to save power. The sensor also adjust the display screen's brightness for easiest reading under current ambient lighting conditions.

More than just a communications device, the iPhone comes with an 8 Gig flash drive, quad-band GSM, and is fully internet capable, compatible with the 3 top wireless networks (Wi-Fi, AT&T's EDGE, and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR). The iPhone is also a rich multimedia device, with a built-in 2.0 megapixel camera and full photo management suite, and comprehensive audio/video capabilities that include a widescreen video iPod.

Included with purchase of the iPhone are a stereo headset, a dock and USB dock connector, a USB power adapter, a cleaning/polishing cloth, and user documentation that's as easy-to-follow as it is thorough. You can also find additional information at an iPhone store, such as the one found at iPhone Mobile Mob.

With the advent of the Apple iPhone, the telephone will never be the same again. And the world, more connected than ever before, will be forever grateful.

Top iPhone Apps

Find the best iPhone apps at the iPhone App Store

With Apple's new iPhone App store pumping out applications left and right from 3rd party developers, there are seemingly unlimited options to customize your iPhone 3G.

Some of the top iPhone apps at the time of this writing are Poll Tracker '08. This App allows users to closely track the upcoming 2008 election on their iPhone.

There is also LinkedIn, which allows iPhone users to network together similar to MySpace and Facebook.

However, my personal favorite of this baseball postseason has to be the in game game cast application. This app gives pitch by pitch updates as well as lets you watch highlights of the best plays of the 2008 MLB post season.

With 3rd party developers now able to build iPhone Apps, it appears the iPhone will stay ahead of the rest of the smartphone industry with millions of developers essentially working to build a better iPhone.
