Apple iPod Introduction

The iPod needs little introduction. As of April 2007, Apple stated that it has sold over 100 million iPods across the world - making it the most popular electonic accessory ever sold! If you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, you're missing out on a complete audio and/or video system that stores and organizes your MP3s and clips, can be taken anywhere, or simply docked in a home stereo system.  After all...100 million people can't be wrong!

Take a look at the best iPods and accessories available today - Only the highest rated products are added, and the list is updated as bigger and better things are discovered:

Apple's new iPod Touch

Just when you thought a good thing couldn't get better:

Apple combines the classic iPod features you know and love, housed in the beautiful iPhone body to make this the ultimate upgrade for those who don't want to carry around an expensive phone. It has virtually all of the iPhone's functions, sans the ability to check stocks, or use e-mail or maps (although these features are rumored for a future upgrade).

Both 8 and 16 GB models now feature a large, crisp full-color screen that revolutionizes touch technology. Flip and tap your way through the 3.5" screen's functions, and download new songs through iTunes. It even has Wi-Fi functionality for internet access. Much like all iPods, the iPod Touch unfortunately has a non-removable battery; however, that battery has 5 hours of video playback, or 22 hours of audio.

What's New with the 5.5 Video iPods

Get started with the best classic iPod available

Capabilities: The new 80GB Video iPods can hold an advertised 20,000 songs, 25,000 photos and 100 hours of video. Thanks to the iTunes Store (and many others on the internet), you can also download TV episodes, movie previews, audio books, and new iPod Games.

Enhanced Screen: The new Video iPod's screen is now 60% brighter with more vivid color, especially for those who primarily use it to display photos or watch videos. Amazingly, the new iPod is actually 30% thinner than the generation 4.0 iPod.

Battery Life: The Video iPod is stated to play audio for up to 20 hours, while video play can last 6.5 hours.

Expandability: As usual, the Video iPod has tons of great accessories that allow you to "plug" your iPod into another device, or into the iPod itself, for enhanced functionality. This includes (but is not limited to) stereo Hi-Fi units, voice recorders, camera connectors for picture sync and more.

Interface: A new interface has been added to the 5.5's that will let you find whatever file you're looking for, faster than ever: video, pictures or songs.
