Aprender Inglés - Learn English

Learn regularly, get into a rhythm of a day-to-day learning process enjoy your learning take 10 minutes to learn something new each day, read, write or listen to something in English, have fun learning English.

Download an audio file onto your MP3 player or iPod and listen to it on the way to work, while going to school or even sit down for 10 minutes on the sofa and listen to a recording of an audio book just to get used to listening to spoken English regularly.

You will not learn English in two or three months, it is a gradual process, take it easy, don't rush to learn everything at once, learn a bit at a time, gradually slowly, practice and see how your English will improve with time. Then all of a sudden everything will click into place you will find it easier and easier to learn English, it will be hard work to begin with, but persevere and you will be rewarded for all your efforts.

Each person is different as to how they learn or study a language some people prefer to read books, some prefer more visual ways of learning watching videos or TV programmes to absorb things better, some people like to listen to audio they learn better, each individual is different. My advice is to do all these things regularly reading, writing, listening, practising your English. Decide what you suits you best and do more of that activity.

The amount of time you dedicate to learning English also affects your learning process, it is obvious the more time you dedicate to learn English the better you will become. It is better to learn something everyday than to go several weeks without learning anything, it just makes sense.

One thing that will help you improve your English no end is, to get your mindset in position.- This means - always having in the back of your mind a reason, a good reason, a goal you want to achieve, the reason you want to learn English, may be it is to improve your job prospects, to be able to use your English in a work environment, or if you're just going away on holiday to the UK or the US and want to be able to understand and communicate in English. Any reason really, just keep it in mind, set yourself targets and you will reach them, you will see yourself improving week by week, month by month and it will lead to more motivation for you to keep on learning and enjoying your English.

For example, I listen to a lot of podcasts I download them from the Internet on to my MP3 player then I listen to it when I have spare time.

I spend at alot of time travelling in my car to and from work, I download an audio file in MP3 format, then I convert it to a wav. file which I record onto CD. I then play it on the CD player in my car. It takes quite a bit of time to do this but it is one method of listening to podcasts.( I now have an fm transmitter so I just plug in my mp3 player set the radio frequency and away I go)

You can now buy gadgets which are on the market such as FM. transmitters that you can plug into your MP3 player or iPod so that you can listen to it on your music system in the car. New cars now have radio systems that have a built-in USB sockets for you to plug in your iPod or MP3 player directly.

One way of improving your English is to use study methods which you have used before with success to learn other subjects or activities. Incorporate these into your English studies.

One form is to learn English using your interests, for example if you like sports say - football, read, speak and write about this subject. This will stimulate your interest, it will keep your motivation up giving you the confidence to carry on learning English and enjoy the process of learning a new language.
