April Fool Angel Blessings

No Joke! I Blessed 27 Lenses on April 1st 2011

I've been honored to be an assigned neighborhood angel for two Squidoo different topics for quite some time. I no longer have assigned topics, but when I was watching over Clip Art and Coloring Books I had an opportunity to fly outside my normal neighborhoods to find lenses to bless in April 2011.

I chose to visit the Relationships & Family neighborhood and I spent several hours visiting and blessing lenses I discovered there. I managed to review and bless 27 lenses on April Fools Day 2011 - and they're all good lenses, no fooling.

This lens chronicles my flitting about and blessing, much like a little bee visits the flowers in a garden. There's no ranking or reason to the order I present them here other than how I organized lthem based on my personal experience and impressions of each lens.

Please take time to visit and congratulate these lensmasters who write about topics that can be challenging and personal, perhaps even thought-provoking, but never boring!

Inspiration from Above for Squid Angels

April Fools Day Neighborhood Tour

My first blessing was granted to the lens that organized all our April 1st Angel Adventures for 2011. We were sent to this lens to let the world know where we were flying around Squidoo on April1 and to suggest some refreshments for the day.

Interestingly the lens title refers to April 1 2010 ... did I lose another year?

Make New Friends, Keep the Old

One is Silver, One is Gold

I 've moved to another home 15 times in the past 15 years (most of those relocations took place when I went back to school and changed careers between 1995 and 2000). Life experiences, relationship changes and employment situations all contributed to my losing touch with old friends while making my family ties stronger and more important.

During the 1990's I lost several close friends to cancer. My father and my mother-in-law passed away within months of each other in the first half of 2004, then we lost a grandchild just hours after her birth that same year, on the day after Christmas.

I'm now working toward finding and making new friends in the place where I plan to retire, so I want to build friendships like I had when I was younger.

These lenses helped me to focus on the hows and whys of making and keeping friends, and the importance of friends and family to a healthy lifestyle.

Mummy is 80! Oh, that means I am 60 ...

My mother has outlived her parents by decades, and she's still going strong

Lee and Mum celebrating at her 80th birthday dinner - yes, we do look alike

I hope I can be as healthy and active at 80 as my own mother is today. My husband's mother lived until she was in her nineties, and she, too was independent until just a few months before she passed away. Family ties and relationships mean more to me than ever before as I begin to travel toward the 7th decade milestone of my life journey.

Family Ties

Family is Everything

Most of my birth family moved far from our New England home town when I was pregnant with my second daughter 37 years ago. Over the course of 3 decades while living in New Hampshire and Massachusetts I made sure to stay in touch and visit my family in Pennsylvania as my children grew up and my siblings moved away from my parents.

In 1999 I moved to Pennsylvania to live closer to my aging parents and start a completely new career while my grown-up daughters established careers and families of their own in different states far away.

After more than 10 years of shuttling between New York, New England and Pennsylvania I was able to purchase a second home in New England in 2010 so my husband and I can be closer to our daughters and grandchildren as we grow older. My life has come full circle in the process of keeping family ties strong and social connections intact despite significant life and career changes.

These lenses helped me rediscover and explore memories and feelings about relationships of all types.

Meet Pastiche

aka Lee Hansen

I've been building web sites and writing online since the old days of AOL and CompuServe. In 1995 I left a high paying career in high tech to finish my BS in business management and marketing. I also decided to change my career focus from corporate print publishing to electronic publishing and marketing via the Internet. It took 10 years of hard work and online promotion for me to get back to the income level I reached before I dropped out of the rat race, but it was so worth it. I am far happier working at home as a self-employed creative professional than I ever was traveling all over the world or writing and testing code.

My Best Squidoo Lenses

When I'm Not On Angel Duty, I Write About My Passions

I've been a member of Squidoo since August 2007 and during that time I've created more than 180 lenses. My niche is clip art and coloring pages - I'm a graphic designer and digital artist. But I also write about other topics that interest me including organic foods, sustainable living, genetic engineering, Squidoo, gardening, funky gifts and photography.

These are my top 10 lenses at the moment:
