Aquapeutics Steam Shower Review
Some people presume that saunas and steam rooms are identical, but they are separate. Actually, for multiple decades, there's been an continuous sauna vs steam room argument between those recommending sauna use and those who think steam rooms are more fitting. Before jumping into the sauna vs steam room comparisons, it is necessary to differentiate a wet sauna from a steam room. In a wet sauna, water is served onto hot rocks, which enhances the humidity a tad, but not as near as the humidity levels found in a steam room. Yet, in a wet sauna, the comparative humidity is nearly 20%, vs 100% in a steam room.

Sauna vs Steam Room
Far infrared saunas and steam rooms are fundamentally different types of hot baths, but a dry sauna has dry heat and a steam room has moist heat. To put it another way, saunas have notably low levels of humidity, which allows them to be a great deal hotter than steam rooms. You know how 90 degrees outside with reduced humidity is more comfortable than 90 degrees outside with raised humidity? Similar principles pertain in the sauna vs steam room analogy. Saunas have dry heat, and the body can tolerate increased temperatures if the humidity is low enough. Steam rooms consist of moist heat, and due to the fact that sweating is far less effective (due to the fact it can't dissipate easily) in a steam room, the temperature should be kept lower.
Steam Showers
Steam showers use a generator to heat water and diffuse it throughout the air, creating 100% humidity. Steam showers have to be manufactured in certain ways to cope with the high moisture levels established by the steam. Typically they are sheathed with ceramic tile, and they are usually made with slanted ceilings so that steam build-up will not "rain" onto the steam bathers. Steam showers feel hotter, however, they're cooler, since sweat can't evaporate. You will not actually sweat more in a steam room, it's just that when the sweat doesn't evaporate, you're more attentive of how much you're sweating.
