There might not be any person living in India who doesn't know who AR Rahman is. Not only he is a musician but also a wonderful and humble personality. AR Rahman (Allah Rakha Rahman) is an Indian Music composer and also a great human being.

He is the best music composer in India, composed over 1000 songs and theme songs in advertisement. Time has placed him in the top 100 most influential people in the world.

He had worldwide recognition for the songs in the movie "Slumdog Millionaire" in which he bagged 2 Oscar(Academy awards) and thus becoming the first Indian to grab an Oscar!

He is one of my all time best musician. Lets take a look at his life and music.

Personal Life

Rahman's personal life was full of struggle. When he was 9 years old rahman lost his father(R.K Shekhar) under whom he practiced music. After the death of his father, he had to be the backbone of his family. Rahman then on started working with other great composers like M.S Vishwanathan and Ilaiyaraaja. Rahman is married to Saira Banu and he has three children, Khatija, Rahima, and Ameen.

Music career

Rahman used to give music for advertisements of Indian television and through that, a great director from Tamil industry named Mani Ratnam gave him an offer to compose music in the film Roja which made a breakthrough in his music career. The music from the movie Roja bagged several awards.

Rahman then went on to make several hits from his later films like Bombay, Boys and many other Blockerbuster hits. He also made an entry to Bollywood and made his announcement in Hindi film industry by his song Dil se, Chaiya Chaiya. he also recorded songs for many oscar nomination movies like Water, Lagaan, Slumdog Millionaire.
