Arcade Video Games: House of the Dead Revisited

When it comes to arcade video games, I have to say that I've always been a fan of the classics. They may be a bit more simplistic than some of the more advanced new games on the market, but there is something of an addictive element, to playing a classic games. Once you try a fame like this, I'm sure you'll agree they just plain fun!

In this article, I want to introduce you to a set of games that I'm sure will be exciting to games that are fans of the old horror themed shooter games. You may already be familiar with the old house of the dead series of video arcade games. These titles were chalked full of zombie killing fun, and now, they are available for the Nintendo Wii.

Better yet, if you check around the internet you'll see that House of the Dead II and III are being packaged together, and can be had for just over $20. Now, if you've ever played games from this series, you may already be anxious to get a copy of this set. However, if you're new to House of the Dead, I'll give you a few more details about what makes these games so great.

What I like best about this set of games is that Nintendo did an excellent job of bringing them back onto the gaming scene without taking away an ounce of thei classic feel. When I first took a look at these titles, I was shocked that they seem to have the exact same look and feel of the original arcade video games versions. This is true right down to the familiar arcade style graphics and sound effects that so many gamers remember.

Both games allow for too players, and work great with the Wii shotgun. There are several great modes to enjoy including an arcade mode, and a training mode to help you get the feel of the games.

Now, the titles in this package are rated M for the obvious reasons of gore and violence, associated with any game in the horror genre. That being said, there are parental controls that help to lessen this.

Another great thing about these games is that there is some really entertaining bonus material, not included in the original arcade versions. In addition to that, there are a series of video tutorials included in the package to help you get acclimated.

You'll find both titles challenging enough to be enjoyed by any seasoned gamer, yet not too complicated for anyone to enjoy. In short, if you're a fan of classic arcade video games, I highly recommend you give these House of the Dead releases a try.
