4.3 Mage Update

If you've been playing a Arcane Mage in World of Warcraft for a good amount of time, you know how Blizzard tends to make all their major class overhauls in the last major patches of expansions, so let's take a close look at all the changes in 4.3 Hour of Twilight.

4.3 Arcane Mage Changes

  • Spells which have an effect broken by taking damage past a threshold (Entangling Roots, Fear, Frost Nova, etc.) now count damage that was prevented by damage absorbs or other damage reducing effects.


    • Just like Frost, this is the only change any Arcane Mage should really worry about. Since Arcane has so little survivability, frost nova is pretty important, so make sure your aware that it might break that much sooner.

    Pros and Cons of a Arcane Build.

    Pros

  • In my opinion Arcane is the best for dungeon leveling, because of it's group buffs later on, and burst dps.

  • Much more mana efficient then Fire

  • When you pick up the nether vortex talent, you can slow every mob just by using your normal spell rotation.


    • Cons

  • The rotation isn't very hard, so it can be pretty uneventful compared to the other specs.

  • I can't think of a cloth wearer that has less survivability then a Arcane Mage.
