Archlord - Free online role playing game

The game of Archlord features a system where guilds battle in massive wars to lay siege to, and capture, one of the castles in the world. The guilds occupying the castles then fight to decide who'll be the next Archlord.

The Archlord and his Dragon

This type of large scale warfare is what makes the game of Archlord unique.
The new Archlord will have powers beyond imagination. He controls day & night, has bodyguards to protect him, he can call upon the heavens to cause a meteor shower doing damage all around and he has a dragon to fly him to places.

However, there is a price to pay for being the Archlord. Once you die, when fighting monsters or other players, you will come back to life as a normal player. No more Archlord, no more powers.
For this, other people will hunt you. Not everyone agrees to the ruling of the Archlord. Many will try, and many will die.

There was a time that you had to pay to get your hands on Archlord.

Then there was a time you had to pay a monthly fee to play ...

But no more
Archlord is completely free to play.
You can download the game at their site (download Archlord here). There is no monthly fee to play and you can play as much as you like.

However, there are still advantages that can only be bought with real money.

The "chantra shop" contains items that can be bought for credits, and credits can be bought with real life money on the Archlord site.
Those items are in no way needed to play, but they make you stronger, level faster or just give you cool things.
Prices are reasonable, for example, $10.00 for 3,000 credits. This will get you buffs (example Lucky Charm, increasing droprate, for 14 days cost 1000 credits), potions (example 5 Extra-large Defense Potions, which will increase your defense for 30 minutes, for 50 credits) and other cool stuuf (like Angel Wings that will increase your movement speed for 14 days for 900 credits).

Since the end of 2008, ArchLord has a forth server designed specifically for PvP play.
If you are tired of bashing endless numbers of monsters, why don't you try to get a character up to level 30 on Cyripus and go slay some player enemies!

If you need gold in Archlord, you can do 2 things. Either you just grind, sell the things that drop and pick up all the gold.
Or you can buy a large amount of gold from one of the gold selling sites for a reasonable amount of money.

Before you can start to play you will have to create a character.
A name and the looks of your character will not influence game play, so pick one you like. However a more deciding factor is the race and class you'll be playing.
Unlike other games, you cannot decide the gender of your character. Every class/race combo has a set gender. We list them below.

More xp in dungeons (starting level 18)
To get more experience when killing monsters, go into a dungeon. Dungeons give a lot more experience than the outside world.
An example for level 17 and up when you are playing a human character is the forgotten grave. The entrance of this dungeon is at Lizardmen's Claw, west of Tullan. The entrance is covered with level 17 creatures, giving more than 1000 XP when you kill them, deeper into the grave are higher level creatures that can give a lvl 20+ character nice XP.

Chest trading
An easy way to make a large amount of gold at lower levels...
Buy platinum treasure chests. Especially in lower level zones, players sell them under the actual value. An example location is Delfaras. People there usually sell platinum treasure chests for 100K to 200K (depending on server). You can sell those same chests for 200K to 300K in Tullan.

Archlord features beautiful graphics and game play. The system requirements are fairly low for what you get. Also, if you are low on resources, you can tune down graphics details and quality to improve performance.
