Archos Media Player

My husband has been a locomotive engineer for over 14 years. Now, I can't tell you his name, but I can tell you though that he absolutely loves his Archos 604 and uses it everyday for both work and play. You might be asking, "How can he possibly use an Archos media player for work on the railroad?"

As I'm sure you can imagine, the railroad has an overwhelming number or rules and regulations that absolutely has be followed to the "T" or people die! Memorizing every one of these rules would be almost next to impossible, especially since they change them all the time in efforts to increase safety, so each employee is required to carry with them at all times every one of these rules.

Used to be that guys were having to carry these enormous company rule books, but then they got converted to PDF format. This makes my husbands life much easier as he has downloaded the rule book to his Archos. It is much easier for him to incorporate the changed rules using his Archos as he just plugs it into his laptop, downloads the changes and transfers them over to his Archos. Other guys have to thumb through their monster books to remove and add pages one by one.

Also by having the rule book on his Archos, searching for new or changed rules when he is working is easier as he can flip on his Archos, do a quick search, and access the rule that he needs quicker and much more efficiently.

He is looking to upgrade from the Archos 604 to one of the newer models like the Archos 5 so that he can just download the new rule book changes directly to his Archos instead of having to download to his computer and then over to his Archos. I think you can agree, the Archos media player has certainly made my husband's job much easier.

Not only does he use it for work, but he also uses his Archos 604 for fun as well. When he isn't on the train but is traveling in the work van or staying overnight in the Hotel, he can occupy his downtime by watching his favorite movies.
