Are the Apparel Colors You Choose Turning People Away?

Color is an important part of human expression.
When applied to the clothes you wear, impressions are immediately created.
A navy blue, white, and pink necktie each has its own message.
And as colors say things about the wearer, the wrong colors can say the wrong things.

Colors, mood, and personality

Pink Wedding Tie with Pink ShirtThe renowned psychiatrist Carl Jung encouraged his patients to use color in their artwork. This is because he believed that the color choices of people revealed the unconscious part of their psyche. It has been said that character traits are often reflected by a person's preferred colors:

Solid colors are preferred by assertive, confident individuals.
Pastels are often chosen by carefree and creative people.
Red is the color of strength and attention.
Yellow communicates warmth and cheerfulness.
Lighter shades of blue are for calm reflection.
Light shades of green, such as lime, hints of romanticism.

Black is a popular non-color, according to color therapist Elizabeth Harper. She explains that black is often the shade chosen by people when they wish to suppress and protect their emotions. She also adds that when combined with another color, black unveils the mood of the wearer.
Beige is considered to be dull color, especially when mixed with another light shade. Combined with lime or pink, the wearer will be seen as a wallflower.
Pink, on the other hand, has come a long way from being "sugar, spice, and everything nice." From once being the color of soft femininity, as well as feminine repression, pink has become synonymous with charm and cutting-edge boldness. When blended with a black shirt, a solid pink tie can dramatically transform the wearer into a trendy savant. Even Pantone LLC, a renowned color expert, has declared Barberry-a deep shade of pink-to be one of the essential fashion colors for men in 2011.

Skin Tone and Color

Blue tiesChoosing the right hue can spell the difference between attraction and repulsion.  Wrong colors can make a wearer look old, tired, and ill.  On the other hand, the right colors can make a person look younger give their skin a healthy glow.

People are categorized as winter, spring, summer, or autumn, based on their natural coloring.

Winter.

Brunettes with dark eyes and blue or pink undertones belong to the winter category. These people look best in intense and rich colors such as black, navy blue, red, and hot pink.  A black Radley silk tie with hot pink stripes, for instance, would look great on a winter-colored person.
If you belong to this category, avoid wearing earth tones such as beige and dark yellow; they will make you look dull and ashen.

Summer.

Natural blonds with pale eyes belong to the summer category.  Their skin, like winter people, has blue or pink undertones. Pastel colors such as powder blue, plum, and lavender enhance the appearance of summer people.  Intense and vivid colors, on the other hand, should be avoided as they are too harsh.

Autumn

people have golden brown complexions.  Their skin is beige or pale peach in color. Redheads with brown eyes are autumns. Earth tones such as myrtle, amaranth, and persimmon complement autumn people's wardrobe, while bright colors, black and white, and shades of blue make them look pale and sickly.

Spring.

People who belong to this category have extremely light skin color. Strawberry redheads with blue or green eyes, freckles and rosy cheeks are spring people. The colors recommended for spring are peach, yellow, and aqua.  They also look good in bright greens, reds and light blues.  They should avoid black and white shade combination.  Dark hues also subdue their skin tones.
