What is Ephebiphobia? 

The fear of youth is called ephebiphobia. Today it is more commonly known as the "inaccurate, exaggerated and sensational characterization of young people" depending on the situation and where it takes place in the world.

    New word on me too.

    Yes I do get nervous, but . . .

    . . . a lot depends upon the behavior of those youths. And I will admit that the older I get the more nervous I am. After all it is true that the older you are the more vulnerable you are.

    Nothing much changes though. It don't seem yesterday that I was hanging around on the street in a 'gang'. And I guess that older people got a little nervous.

    I had never heard this term before. I don't think I fear youth at all, but I guess if I see a large group of people standing around, loitering, perhaps acting a little obnoxious then, yes I get nervous. But it's not their age that bothers me. In most instances, I would say the answer to the problem is for parents to take control of their kids, it's their job. Get them involved in something productive, know where they are, and what they're doing. I know it's a tough job but...

    Get them off the streets I say! All these young people have gerontophobia for sure and, most likey, gelotophobia as well! P.S. How dare they be so youthful?
