Arizona Unclaimed Money Search

If you're living in Arizona or at some time in your life lived and worked there before, there is a good chance that out of the $400 million in unclaimed money that the Treasury Department is currently holding, some of it belongs to you!  Even if you haven't been to there before, an Arizona-based company may have turned-over to the government lost funds belonging to you. Depending on the type of Arizona unclaimed money or property ( $3.5 million of AZ unclaimed funds come from unclaimed tax refunds alone) , there is a dormancy period of usually 3 years for lost assets to be claimed before they are by law handed over to the federal government.

Unclaimed Money in Arizona

Locating Your AZ Unclaimed Funds

Lost financial assets include securities, cash or property like cashiers checks, dormant savings and checking accounts, stocks, un-cashed money orders, safe deposit box contents, lost cash dividends, unused gift certificates, unclaimed insurance benefits, mineral royalty payments, found utility deposits, court deposits, unclaimed security deposits, credits, and payroll checks.

Contents of safety deposit boxes can also be considered unclaimed property if their owners can't be contacted after the dormancy period. The Arizona Treasury Department sells contents of safety deposit boxes in annual auctions if their owners don't claim them after 3 years. The proceeds are then held by the state as unclaimed money. A trust fund from the unclaimed money is maintained by the State of Arizona and the excess is transferred to the state's General Fund.

Now let me ask you, do you want the state's "general fund" to have your unclaimed cash? Or do you want to take that vacation you've been dreaming about. Perhaps you've been itching to buy yourself an iPhone. Whatever it is, shouldn't you be in charge of your found money? Taxes are high enough, and we know the government doesn't know how to manage money, so shouldn't you be the one who's in charge of property that is rightfully yours!?

The state government isn't going to track you down, you need track them down, by searching for your Arizona unclaimed money ASAP.
