- Ahwatukee is on the south-east edge of Phoenix.
- Ajo
- Ajo has a rich tradition as a former copper-mining hub and is in the southern part of the state.

- Alpine is surrounded by the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest near the headwaters of the San Francisco River.
- Amado
- Amado is nestled in the Santa Cruz River Valley.
- Apache Junction
- A gateway to the Superstition Mountains.

- Arcosanti is really an architectural project.
- Ash Fork
- Ash Fork is located in north-central Arizona on Historic Route 66.
- Avondale
- Avondale is ranked as one of the fastest growing communities in Maricopa County.

- Bagdad
- Bagdad lies on Bridle Creek in west-central Yavapi County.
- Benson
- Home of Kartchner Caverns State Park.
- Bisbee
- Bisbee, 90 miles southeast of Tucson, is the picturesque county seat of Cochise County.
- Black Canyon City
- Black Canyon City was a stage stop on the Phoenix to Prescott line and a Military stopover while traveling to Fort Whipple and Fort Verde during territorial days.
- Bouse
- Bouse is located in the Sonoran Desert of west-central Arizona. It sits in the shadows of the Plomosa Mountains, 27 miles southeast of Parker & the Colorado River, and 23 miles northeast of Quartzsite.
- Bowie
- Bowie is named for nearby Fort Bowie, in the San Simon Valley of southeastern Arizona.
- Buckeye
- Founded in 1888, Buckeye is the western most community of the valley of the Sun.
- Bullhead City
- Bullhead City is located near the spot where Arizona, Nevada and California meet along the waters of the Colorado River.
- Bumble Bee - Ghost Town
- Bumble Bee was a stage stop on the Prescott-Phoenix stage line.

- Cameron is home of the historic Cameron Trading Post
- Carefree
- The other side of Black Mountain from Cave Creek and in a different world ...
- Camp Verde
- Located in the geographical center of Arizona, Camp Verde is the oldest settlement in the Verde Valley.
- Canyon Lake
- There is only one way to Canyon Lake - the scenic Apache Trail (Highway 88) from Apache Junction. About 45 miles east of Phoenix.
- Casa Grande
- Casa Grande is named for the famous Hohokam Indian ruins 20 miles to the northeast and lies between Phoenix and Tuscon.
- Chandler
- Dr. Alexander John Chandler, Arizona's first territorial veterinarian planned and founded Chandler.
- Chinle
- Chinle is at the entrance to Canyon de Chelly National Monument.
- Chino Valley
- Chino Valley is located along State Highway 89 in the mountains of north central Arizona.
- Chloride
- Chloride is an old silver mining town that dates to the 1860s. Nestled in a pocket of the Cerbat Mountain Range.
- Clarkdale
- The Town of Clarkdale is located on the banks of the Verde River in the north central part of Arizona.
- Clifton
- Clifton is an old mining town in eastern Arizona, near the New Mexico border.
- Colorado City
- Colorado City is on the northern border of Arizona, near Hildale Utah.
- Concho
- Concho is one of the original pioneer towns in the White Mountains of Arizona.
- Coolidge
- Coolidge is the commercial center of the Arizona's cotton industry, and is located halfway between Phoenix and Tucson.
- Cottonwood
- Cottonwood is in the Verde Valley and home to Pre-Columbian Sinaguan sites.
- Crown King
- The now-living ghost town is located in the pine-laden forest of the Bradshaw Mountains, in the Prescott National Forest approximately two hours from Phoenix to the south, and Flagstaff to the north.
D - Dewey-Humboldt, Dolan Springs, Douglas and Duncan.
- Dewey-Humboldt
- Dewey-Humboldt is located in the high desert of Northern Arizona and is 85 miles north of Phoenix and 12 miles east of Prescott.
- Dolan Springs
- Dolan Springs is a desert community at the base of Mount Tipton, 30 miles northwets of Kingman.
- Douglas
- Douglas is on the Mexican border, in the southeastern corner of the state.
- Duncan
- Duncan is close to the New Mexico border, near Clifton and Morenci.
E - Eagar, Ehrenberg, El Mirage, Elgin and Eloy.
- Eagar
- Eager is nestled at the base of the White Mountains in northeastern Arizona.
- Ehrenberg
- Ehrenberg is on the Colorado River, about mid state and was originally called Mineral City.
- El Mirage
- El Mirage is 35 minutes northwest of downtown Phoenix.
- Elgin
- Elgin, with Sonoita and Patagonia is part of the Mountain Empire approximately 50 miles south of Tucson.
- Eloy
- Eloy is just beyond Casa Grande on the route from Phoenix to Tuscon.
F - Flagstaff, Florence, Fort Huacguca, Fort McDowell, Fountain Hills and Fredonia.
- Flagstaff
- At 7,000 feet (2,121 m) elevation and located in a refreshing and green ponderosa pine forest, Flagstaff is considered a high desert region.
- Florence
- Florence is at the Junction of U.S. Highway 79 and Arizona 287 just 61 miles from downtown Phoenix and 70 miles from Tucson.
- Fort Huachuca
- Fort Huachuca is in the Southeastern part of the state and exists bacause of the Indian Wars of the 1870s and 1880s.
- Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation
- Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation is located within Maricopa County about twenty-three miles northeast of Phoenix.
- Fountain Hills
- Fountain Hills takes its name from a unique attraction designed and installed when the community was founded in 1970. It is the tallest fully operating fountain in the world.
- Fredonia
- Fredonia is Arizona's northern-most town and along the Kanab Creek near the Utah border.
G - Ganado, Gila Bend, Gilbert, Glendale, Globe, Goldfield, Goodyear, Grand Canyon, Green Valley, Greer, and Guadalupe.
- Ganado
- In the Navaho Nation in Northeastern Arizona
- Gila Bend
- Gila Bend is (you guessed it) on a sharp bend in the Gila River, south and west of Phoenix.
- Gilbert
- Take US 60 out of Phoenix a few minutes to Gilbert which is south of the 60 and Mesa.
- Glendale
- Glendale is on the west of Phoenix and south of Sun City. It is the new home to the NHL Phoenix Coyotes.
- Globe
- Globe is a mining town in Cobre Valley at the intersection of US Highways 60 and 70, east of Phoenix.
- Goldfield (Ghost Town)
- The first gold-strike in Goldfield was made in 1892, between the Superstition Mountains to the east and the Goldfield Mountains to the west. Today it's a commercial ghost town, worth the visit when in Apache Junction and the Superstitions.
- Goodyear
- Take the I 10 west out of Phoenix to Goodyear. Goodyear is a developing community near the base of the Estrella Mountains.
- Grand Canyon
- Not a city, but it is one of the prime destinations in Arizona!
- Green Valley
- Green Valley is a retirement area south of Tuscon on I-19.
- Greer
- Greer is in the White Mountains part of the Mogollon Range. It's an alpine village at about 8,500 feet bounded by the east and west forks of the Little Colorado River.
- Guadalupe
- Guadalupe is a Native American and Hispanic community of about 5,500 residents between Phoenix and Tempe at the base of South Mountain.
- Ghost Towns
- Arizona has many old ghost towns, some more active than others.
H - Hannagan Meadow, Hayden, Heber, Holbrook, Hon-Dah, Hopi and Huachuca City
- Hannagan Meadow
- Hannagan Meadow Lodge is a unique historical property, secluded high in the Arizona White Mountains at 9100 feet elevation.
- Hayden
- Hayden is a planned community, in the Gila River valley, 78 miles southeast of Phoenix and 80 miles northwest of Tucson.
- Heber-Overgaard
- Heber-Overgaard is in the White Mountains, north and east of Phoenix.
- Holbrook
- Holbrook is 28 miles from the Petrified Forest National Park on Interstate 40.
- Hon-Dah
- The White Mountain Apache Tribe.
- Hopi Tribe
- The Hopi reservation is in northeast Arizona.
- Huachuca City
- Huachuca City, is located on State Route 90 26 miles south of Benson. Kartchner Caverns State Park is located 15 miles north on State Route 90, and historic Fort Huachuca is located 6 miles to the south.
J - Jacob Lake, Jerome, and Joseph City.
- Jacob Lake
- Jacob Lake is the gateway to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. It is very small, consisting of only a motel, restaurant, general store and gas station. Jacob Lake is approximately 60 miles north of the north rim. It's too small for a web site so here is the Jacob Lake Inn.
- Jerome
- An old mining town that is barely hanging on to the side of a mountain ...
- Joseph City
- Joseph City is in Navajo County on Interstate 40 about 80 miles east of Flagstaff.
K - Kayenta, Keams Canyon, Kearny, Kingman, Kitt Peak, Klondyke, and Kykotsmovi.
- Kayenta
- Kayenta is in Navaho County, about 20 miles from the Utah border, and is called Tohdenasshai by the Navahos.
- Kearny
- Kearny, located in eastern Pinal County, was visited by Father Kino as he sought out to convert the Apache Indian communities. It bcame a mining town and is now a growing planned community.
- Kingman
- The City of Kingman is located in northwest Arizona along Interstate 40 and U.S. 93. Kingman elevations range from 3,300 to 3,800 feet and straddle the Hualapai, Cerbat and Black Mountains.
- Kitt Peak
- Kitt Peak Observatory is located 56 miles southwest of Tucson, AZ, and has a Visitor Center open daily to the public.
- Klondyke
- Klondyke is a ghost town in Graham County. Originally named for it's gold mining counterpart in Canada, but the name was miss-spelled with a "y" instead on an "i".
- Kykotsmovi
- Kykotsmovi is the home of the Hopi Tribe.
L - Lake Havasu City and Litchfield Park.
- Lake Havasu City
- Home to the world-famous London Bridge.
- Litchfield Park
- Litchfield Park is a planned residential community, 16 miles west of central Phoenix.
M - Marana, Mesa
N - Nogales
- Nogales
- Nogales is in the Santa Cruz region, on the border with Mexico.
O - Oatman
- Oatman
- Oatman, on historic Route 66, Oatman was named in honor of Olive Oatman, who was kidnapped as a young girl by Mojave Indians and later rescued in 1857 near the current site of the town.
P - Page, Palaminoas, Paradise Valley, Parker, Patagonia, Payson, Peoria, Phoenix, Portal, Prescott and Prescott Valley.
- Page
- Page is in the Northern part of the state, near Lake Powell and the Grand Canyon.
- Palominas
- Palominas is on the Mexico border in the southeast part of the state.
- Paradise Valley
- The Town of Paradise Valley is nestled between Scottsdale and Phoenix.
- Parker
- Parker is located on the east bank of the Colorado River, 163 miles west of Phoenix and 250 miles east of LA.
- Patagonia
- Patagonia, with Sonoita and Elgin, is part of the Mountain Empire approximately 50 miles south of Tucson.
- Payson
- The Town of Payson is located approximately ninety minutes North of Phoenix, on the Beeline Highway, and in the heart of Arizona's Rim Country.
- Peoria
- Peoria is North and West of Phoenix on the curve of the 101.
- Phoenix
- Phoenix is a true metropolitan area with great hotels, resorts, golf courses, vacation activities, tours, music and fun in general.
- Portal
- Portal is in the San Simon Valley, in the foothills of the Chiricahua Mountains and at the mouth of Cave Creek Canyon.
- Prescott
- Prescott was Arizona's first territorial capital.
- Prescott Valley
- Prescott Valley is located in Yavapai County in central Arizona and approximately 85 miles north of Phoenix.

- Quartzsite
- Where rock collectors meet, swap and sell ...
- Queen Creek
- The Town of Queen Creek's name Queen Creek. That creek runs down from the mountains, past the mine, through the Queen Creek Canyon, into the area surrounding the present day Town of Queen Creek.
S - Safford, Scottsdale, Second Mesa, Sedona, Seligman, Show Low, Snowflake, Sonoita, Springerville, St. Johns, Strawberry, Supa
- Safford
- On the Old West Highway, set against the Gila River and majestic Mount
Graham, you'll find the neighboring cities of Pima, Thatcher and Safford. - Scottsdale
- Scottsdale, a destination city.
- Second Mesa
- Second Mesa is located on the Hopi Tribal reservation in northeastern Arizona. The only motel on the Hopi Reservation, The Hopi Cultural Center Motel, is located on top of Second Mesa.
- Sedona
- Number one on USA WEEKEND's Annual Travel Report 10 Most Beautiful Places in America
- Seligman
- Seligman is located at the junction of Route 66 and I-40. Nearby scenic attractions include the Grand Canyon and the Prescott, Kaibab and Coconino National Forests.
- Show Low
- Show Low was established in 1870 and incorporated in 1953. It is located in southern Navajo County at an elevation of 6,350 feet, 175 miles northeast of Phoenix and 195 miles north of Tucson.
- Snowflake
- Snowflake is the northernmost community in Arizona's White Mountains. Nearby attractions include Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelly, and the Painted Desert.
- Sonoita
- Sonoita, with Elgin and Patagonia is part of the Mountain Empire approximately 50 miles south of Tucson.
- Springerville
- Springerville is located in the northeastern portion of Arizona, approximately 18 miles west of the Arizona-New Mexico border. Springerville was developed around Henry Springer's trading post.
- St. Johns
- The City of St. Johns has a population of 3,865, and is located in the northeastern portion of Arizona, approximately 18 miles west of the Arizona-New Mexico border,
- Strawberry
- Strawberry is located on Hwy 87/260 West, at the base of the Mogollon Rim.
- Supai
- Located deep within an inner gorge of the Grand Canyon, Supai has been home to the Havasupai Indians for many centuries. The village boasts a small café, lodge, post office, school, church, clinic, police station, and a general store.
- Sun City
- Sun City is an adult community adjacent to northwest Phoenix. Take Bell Road west.
- Sun City West
- Sun City West is a master-planned active adult community, about 12 miles northwest of Phoenix.
- Surprise
- Located along US 60, northwest of Phoenix, Surprise is the Spring Training home to 2 major league teams.
T - Taylor, Tombstone
W - Welton
- Wellton
- Wellton, founded in 1878 and incorporated in 1970, lies 29 miles east of Yuma. Wellton (originally Well Town) was named for the time water wells were drilled to service the Southern Pacific Railroad.
