"Every Woman Can Have Nicely Shaped Arms"

Do you have a problem with flabby arms? Here you'll find some tips about arm exercises women should practice to get rid of their arm flab.

The arm exercises women should practice to tone the arms are a bit different from those for men looking to build muscle. Rather than increasing muscle mass, women are often looking to merely tone the arms, and shift any stubborn arm fat that may damage self-confidence and self-image. Thus, rather than focusing on heavy resistance training, women can benefit from a combination of female-specific arm exercises.

Top 3 Mistakes of Women Training Their Arms

Make sure you get it right

  1. Wrong execution of the workout exercise. The full positive effect of an arm exercise can only unfold when you perform it in the exact way it was intended. Below you will find a video that shows a BAD example -- followed by a good one. :-)

  2. Ignoring cardiovascular training. If you have problems with flabby arms, then the muscle is only one part of the problem. Sculpting the muscle is good, but make sure that it's not covered under a layer of fat! Cardiovascular training is the fastest way to lower you body fat percentage.

  3. Ignoring nutrition. Again, you need to uncover your hidden toned muscles. To do that efficiently you need to burn more fat and consume less calories. A good nutrition plan will do that for you.

Arm Exercises Women - Bad Video Example

You can find exercise instructions for free...

...but beware. Some teach you the wrong stuff.

This video is an example for bad workout instructions you should not follow such advise.
  • In exercise #1, arm curls for the biceps, she swings her upper body to make things easier. You shouldn't do that. Also, her ellbows are not touching the body, so that she automatically uses the shoulder muscles as well. That's maximum inefficiency. Watch the good example video below to see how this exercise should be performed correctly.

  • Exercises #2 and #3: Hammer Curls - Do you know now what I mean with "swinging upper body"?

  • Exercise #3: Overhead extensions for training the triceps. Now, this is an exercise I would not recommend at all. The movement is quite complex and you will easily overstretch or even hurt your back if you do this exercises with heavier weights. If you use very small weights, then the effect on the triceps is negligible. So, just ignore this exercise.

  • Last exercise - actually, this is a good one and she does everything correct, here. Kind of a happy end. :-)

Arm Exercises Women - One more advice

In order to tone up and reduce arm flab, exercises should be targeted at both the biceps and the triceps. By strengthening these key muscles, you can add definition to your arms and help convert excess arm fat into muscle for a firmer, slimmer appearance. As such, you should look to build both the biceps and triceps in equal measure to produce the most balanced, toned appearance.
