Arnica montana

An important herbal and homeopathic remedy to keep on hand - especially for you "weekend warriors" and little ones prone to bumps and bruises. Arnica is widely used around the world for aches, pains, and injuries. It is available in a variety of different preparations - creams, salves, lotions, pills, and more.

Spotlight on Arnica

The bumps and bruises remedy

Arnica montana (also known as Leopard's Bane, Sneezewort, Mountain Tobacco) is the remedy of choice for physical trauma. It reduces pain and hastens recovery time from injuries or surgery.

It is used topically in creams or salves as a whole-plant herbal preparation and is taken internally as a homeopathic remedy. It is also a useful and popular addition to massage oils.

For injuries, the cream can be applied directly to the affected area (unbroken skin only) to help reduce or eliminate bruising, swelling, and pain. It can also be applied to "old" bruises to speed healing.

Taken in homeopathic form (pills under the tongue), Arnica promotes the healing of injured tissues and helps to control bleeding.

Important Uses for Arnica

It really is good for more than just a bruise.......

Trauma from injuries and falls

My husband fell hard flat on his back on the concrete garage floor. I gave him arnica by mouth and I could not believe how fast he healed. His ribs were really sore at first but I attribute his quick recovery to the arnica.

I'm back to rave more about Arnica! My daughter, 10, had her tonsils out and we gave her Arnica tablets pre and post op. She is on day 8 post op and she has been using Arnica gel on her neck and jaw every few hours since the surgery. It comforts her. If I offer ice and Arnica gel, she chooses the Arnica gel first. The first few days she kept it by her bed to use when she awoke in pain. Thanks for spreding the word!

thanks for spreading the word on Arnica. I have been using Arnica for almost 8 years. I use the gel on my kids bumps. If I get it on them within a couple of minutes, they do not develope a bruise.
I have had Cystoscopies to remove kidney stones.
I have used it right before I went into surgery and DH dosed me with it as soon as he was allowed to see me. I had an amazing recovery. I was up and fine within 2 hours. The time I did not take the Arnica I was so sore, I felt like a truck hit me and I was in bed on Pain meds for a week. (Same type of surgery!)
