Aromatherapy As Alternative Medicines
Aromatherapy is a form of alternative medicine that uses essential oils, the aromatic compounds of plants, extracted through steam distillation or other methods. Essential oils, which form the basis of aromatherapy, are concentrated liquids distilled from plant.
They are powerful in their scent and chemical composition and can be used in a number of different ways, either directly or diluted in water or oil. Aromatherapy is the art and science of using natural aromatic to treat a range of disorders and promote the overall health of an individual.
Essential oils, the pure essence of a plant, have been found to provide both psychological and physical benefits when used correctly and safely. Aromatherapy benefits extends to all parts of the human body including internal and external parts.
The ancient science of healing, relaxing and energizing by the use of plants and their parts. Aromatherapy also acts on the central nervous system, relieving depression and anxiety, reducing stress, relaxing, uplifting, sedating and stimulating.
Can be used in massage therapy, in bathing and sauna, and as home fragrances which promote not only nice aromas but healing and relaxing therapy.
Aromatherapy Carrier oils provide many benefits including nourishment of vitamins and minerals, as well as soothing and moisturizing of the skin. Because carrier oils are natural plant based products, they allow the skin to function, as it should, keeping the temperature regulated, sustaining moisture and elasticity, absorbing light, and providing oxygen to pass through to the skin.
This Alternative Medicine involves the use of essential oils, often through massage . Individual blends are prepared by the practitioner, in a base of cold pressed oil and then applied to the patient's skin through a remedial or relaxing massage. Aromatherapy is the systematic use of essential oils to maintain and promote physical and psychological well-being. It has also been
used to help treat a wide range of physical and mental conditions, including burns, infections,
depression , insomnia , and high blood pressure .
