Using Essential Oils safely
Safety Guidelines
Never take essential oils internally. Some of oils are toxic if taken internally.
Never apply neat essential oils directly to skin or hair without dilute it with carrier oils. except for lavender and tea tree.
After using essential oils wait for between 4 to 6 hours before going out in the sun or having laser hair treatment. The oils to beware are from citrus family such as lemon, orange, mandarin, neroli, grapefruit, bergamot.
Do not self treat with essential oils if you are pregnant.
Basic Techniques for Using Essential Oils
Here's how you use essential oils
Oil Burner works by heating a few drops of oil in a water bowl set above tea light candle. It's a good investment as one of the easiest way to benefit from essential oils.
Misting
You can mist essential ois by fill a mister bottle with water then add s few of essential oils, then shake. Just spray when needed.
Vaporizers and diffusers
Vaporizers emit steam that carries essential oils whereas diffusers spray a fine mist of cold essential oils in the room. Some people prefer to use diffusers because diffusers do not heat and so the molecular structure of the essential oils remains unchanged.
Inhalations
Inhalations is inhaling a steam over a bowl of hot water under a tent of towels. It is great for your skin. As you breathe the steam acts to open up the pores and release the impurities. Make sure the steam is not too hot. Too hot can cause broken capillaries on the cheeks and irritate sensitive skin.
Baths
This is the most popular method to enjoy aromatherapy. Add a few drops essential oils to your bathtub. Disperse the oils by waving your hand rapidly over the surface of the water.
Massage
Use a carrier oils to dilute essential oils before applying to the skin/body.
Compresses
An aromatic compresses can help headaches, sprains and bruising. Add essential oils to 2 cup of warm water, dip in a folded flannel, wring it out and put the flannel in the area you need to treat.
Lotions.
An easier way to make most of your essential oils is to add them to your unscented lotions. You can use the lotion for your hand, body or foot.
Perfume.
Aromatherapy perfume makes an exclusive one. You can create your own signature perfume and get the benefit from its essential oils.
Aromatherapy Through The Day
Early in the morning
Stimulating essential oils such as lemon, grapefruit or rosemary are perfect for clearing the fuzz when you wake up. Inhale the aroma from one or the blend of these oils to waken your senses.
Bath
Add a few bergamot oils to your bathwater or the shower floor. The vapour will put you in a good frame of mind ready for the day ahead.
Travel
Scent a tissue with drops of rosewood or lemongrass oil then carry it with you on your daily travels. Inhaling the vapours periodically will enable you to arrive at your destination calm and refreshed.
At Work
Cedarwood and peppermint oil are uplifting. Put 1 - 2 drops of the oil on a cloth and lay it on top of your computer. The gentle heat from the machine will diffuse the oil's aroma and keep you alert all day.
At Home
Wipe surfaces with lemon or lavender scented water to impart fragrance as well as neutralize microbes. In the bathroom, a pine-scented bath mat will keep the atmosphere fresh. For other rooms, a wet cloth scented with petitgrain and orange oil left to dry on radiator will produce a relaxing effect
Studying
Rosemary oil promotes concentration. Lightly scented a handkerchief with a few drops of the oil and inhale the vapours from time to time as you work
Evening
Time to change the gear and slow down after a busy day. Vaporize jasmine or neroli oil to create a luxurious atmosphere to reward and pamper yourself.
Party
Clary sage is supposed to make you feel irresistible. If you are getting read to go out, use a few drops of the oil in your bathwater or add it to hair rinse. If you are pregnant or have medical condition, use neroli instead. It is subtle but just as effective.
Entice
Nothing is more sensual than a massage with essential oils. Blend ylang ylang and rose oils with carrier oils for pure romance.
Relax
To promote restful slumber and relaxation in the evening, vaporize sandalwood or patchouli in the burning candle. Prepare children for bedtime by adding chamomile, myrtle, or lavender oil to their bathwater. These oils are perfect for calming and relaxing tired bodies and minds, Also will ensure youngsters are comfortable, cosy and sleepy.
Sleep
Frankincense promotes deep breathing, while marjoram relaxing. Added to an electric diffusers, the oils will encourage sleep and will continue to work through the night. Keep the aroma subtle for a good night's sleep.

7 Vital Essential Oils for Your Day
Lavender : de-stressing, first aid for burns
It is soporific, relaxing, antiseptic, and helps prevent blistering after burns. It is one of the few essential oils that can be applied neat to the skin.
Tea Tree : natural antiseptic.
Used to treat colds, insect bites and fungal infections, such as athlete's foot
Lemon : happiness
Another natural antiseptic, lemon eases irritability. Stimulating and refreshing, and also thought to improved our sense of humour.
Basil : for concentration
Fights fatigue and boost concentration. Helpful for studying or working late in the night.

A natural mood enhance, geranium also help ease depression. It helps people express their sensual side.
Peppermint : alertness, helps headache
a great "wake up" oil that also soothe headaches and helps indigestion too
Chamomile : Pain relief
De-stressing and anti inflammatory, chamomile can soothe period pain.
