Around the World in 26 Letters

Ranked #4,823 in Education, #113,742 overall

Would you like to have fun while learning about the countries of the world?

Are you a geography teacher, lover of travel, homeschooling or involved parent, student, or life-long learner? Join us on our adventure as we travel the globe!

To make world geography more meaningful and memorable, we will visit one country per letter of the alphabet. Locate the country on a world map, color the flag, watch YouTube clips, cook an ethnic meal, create an ethnic craft, read a book about the country, and more!

Take the guesswork out of your travel plans! I have all the maps, recipes, craft ideas, video clips, etc. that you will need. Sit back and relax and join us on our journey as we explore the world! No passports or plane tickets required!

How to Follow This Itinerary

1) There is at least one country per letter of the alphabet. You can start with A and work your way down through each country. (Some letters have additional options, so you can choose which country you would like to "visit.")

2) Try the globe-spinning method. Each week one person takes a turn closing his/her eyes and spinning a globe around while holding a finger to the globe. When the globe stops, look at what country your finger lands on. That will be the country that you "visit" that week. (My children are especially fond of this method.)

3) Select a country each week that relates to your interests, what you're studying, and/or your heritage.

Your Itinerary: The Countries We Will Visit

Create and decorate an Australian didgeridoo, make maracas while studying Brazil, eat sticky rice with chopsticks while studying China, construct Denmark's flag out of Lego's, bake baklava while studying Egypt, build a model of the Eiffel tower when studying France, and more!
