10 Reasons to Get an Arowana

Or, how to convince yourself, but maybe not your boyfriend/girlfriend that it's a good idea

Reasons, some good, and some, well maybe a bit less good, as to why you should get an Arowana

Dragonfish just sounds cool
It will give you an excuse to get that aquarium that takes up your entire living room
There aren't any other fish that are really worth getting
Impress your date (just don't scare them off by spewing every bit of arowana knowledge you have in that head)
You can make exciting (ok, mildly interesting) youtube videos of it
They bring good luck (asian arowanas I think anyway)
It ain't no little goldfish. That's a real fish.
You'd just waste your money on something else anyway (do it, get the arowana)
It will be very relaxing to sit back at night and watch your arowana swim gracefully around the tank
They are incredibly intelligent fish and your arowana will become a pet, not just a fish. Some even recognize their owners and will show signs of happiness when you approach the aquarium. So do it, get one.

What works for you?

I'd encourage anyone who has an arowana to leave a guestbook entry and let us all know what you have for tankmates with your dragonfish, and what your experiences have been. We all know that a plecostomus will get along with pretty much anything, but it would be interesting to hear what other fish your arowanas do well with in the aquarium.
