What To Feed Your Arowana
If you break the main foods down into categories, there is really only four types of food for you to feed your arowana. These are live food, fresh food, canned food and frozen food. Some of them do over lap i know but its basically the only 4 ranges of food you will need.
The Kind Of Food To Feed Your Arowana
So the key is to feed the arowana a wide varity of foods from the 4 categories at a young age as it will give it a taste for the foods and will make your life easier in the long term.
A breakdown of the food categories is:
A. Live Food: Long time arowana owners will be familiar with the live food choices. Live food mimics what an Arowana might consume in its natural environment. Feeder fish, meal worms, crickets and small frogs are common choices. It is important to consider the source of live foods to ensure they are hazard and disease free.
B. Fresh Food for Arowanas consists of mainly meat. Fish, prawns, chicken, or beef hearts (with fat trimmed) are some meats that may be fed to Arowanas. Arowanas should be fed only quality fresh ingredients. Never feed your arowana fish spoiled fresh food.
C. Canned Food for Arowanas usually come in pellets or dried processed form. Although they are formulated and marketed as a "complete diet," Arowanas prefer to be fed live foods. Consider canned fish foods another alternative rather than a sole source of nutrition. The more varieties of canned food your Arowana will accept, the better. This helps ensure a healthy appetite when live or fresh foods are unavailable.
D. Frozen Food is a great alternative feeding option when fresh foods are unavailable. Frozen meat or frozen live food sources (cockroaches, centipedes, etc) are examples of frozen food. Let them thaw out for a while before you feed them to your fish.

- I have a Jardini and he's about 3-4 inches. He's very picky with foods. In his 75gal tank we have placed 20pcs of small feeder fish that are healthy. He doesn't eat them. Is it safe to leave the little fishes in his tank hoping that he'll still try to eat them someday? We still feed him with fish sticks, but it's the little fishes that eat them.
