Free Arrest Warrant Search

Arrest warrants are issued by the court and authorize a person's arrest. In the United States, they must be accompanied by evidence of probable cause that a crime has been committed. If you or a loved one has a past or present warrant, you'll probably want to access the information in order to plan your next move. If you suspect that you have, or you know you have been issued a one, you'll be comforted to know that they are public information and that you are entitled to a free check. It's also wise to seek the counsel of a lawyer as soon as possible.

You can often perform a free check online at the court's website. Most court websites show all active information online, and are easy to access. Not all courts have websites, or updated sites, but you still have the right to get a free check. In this case, you can contact your local county or state dispatch center, and they will provide all the information you need.

Having a lawyer at your disposal is absolutely necessary to deal with the information your warrant provides, including the affidavit, which is supposed to show probable cause. Your lawyer's staff can get the affidavit information and work with you to determine if all the details are correct, and if the county or state actually does have probably cause to believe you have committed a crime. It's very difficult for an individual to fight the court, even if the court has completely erroneous information. A lawyer will organize your facts and prepare you for every possible scenario that may take place as a result.

No matter what may occur, keep in mind that you have the right to understand exactly why there may be an active warrant issued for you by a state or county court. But, it is ultimately your choice to find out all you can and get a dependable lawyer by your side.

danielfischer says:

I'm going to have to play devils advocate here and say that in some circumstances, ignoring a warrant could actually help you in a situation where your plea would be innocent. If you believe you have never ever done anything wrong, why would there be a warrant for your arrest?

Find out and be proactive in dealing with it

lauradex says:

The courts will be more lenient if you turn yourself in. It's an act of good faith that may end up getting your sentence reduced. If you're just another dirtbag that gets picked up by the cops, they're going to throw the book at you.

Al_Graz says:

If you really think you have an arrest warrant, you HAVE to get it taken care of. Use some online tools and check for sure. Then you will be able to take the best course of action. The idea of "burying your head in the sand" is just stupid.

attorneyand says:

You will need an attorney! One of the first things to ask yourself in deciding if you should consult an attorney is: "What's at stake?" When your finances or liberties are in serious jeopardy, the obvious answer is to get legal help. But what is serious? An ordinary parking summons is a brush with the law, but you need not consult with an attorney to pay the fine or even to fight it
