Andrei Arshavin plays for Zenit St Petersburg and is the captain of the Russian team. He is widely considered to be the best player in Russia and was voted Russian Player of the Year in 2006.He may soon be coming to England for either Newcastle, Macnhester City, Everton or Spurs for a fee around £10 million. Although the most recent rumours are that Arshavin will be coming to Arsenal and Arsene.
He has just scored and been instrumental in helping Russia to qualify for the Euro 2008 quarter finals.
He was born in May 1981 in what is now St Petersburg (it was Leningrad when he was born there).
