Art At Salmon Harbor RV Park

Salmon Harbor RV Resort is located in Smith River, California, right next door to the Ship Ashore Resort. It's easy to miss, because most of the RV park is inside a mobile home park and is not visible from the street. While this cozy little north coast RV park is well known to travelers who return year after year, this lens is actually about the art work I discovered while staying here in 2010.

From the Sammy Salmon perched atop the entrance sign to the private beach sign at the end of the road, the salmon theme is reproduced throughout the park in a whimsical, engaging and light-hearted manner, making the Art of Salmon Harbor lens-worthy to me. I enjoyed walking the park and preserving images of these signs, which are becoming a bit weather-beaten in spots. Considering that they appear to have been created in 2003 (I found one signature with a date) and the exposure to the salt air and Pacific northwest elements for 7 years before I took these photos, it's remarkable that they are as vivid and vibrant as they are.
