About the Artist

Yosemite Sunset is an oil painting I completed after visiting Yosemite National Park and watching an incredible sunset over the mountains. The colors in the sky and mountains were intense and vibrant. My art is about capturing the light and color of my favorite places. I paint in my own local area in Florida, and travel to other scenic places as well. My camera and sketchbooks are always with me as I explore the landscapes, looking for a dramatic scene. Painting the Mystery of Nature

I have always had a passion for art, nature, and animals. My subject is nature, from the big, scenic landscapes, to detailed studies of flowers and birds. I bring my camera and paints with me on long walks as I look for something special that catches my eye, and then I finish the work in the studio. I am constantly seeking to balance the abstract quality of the paint with the visual expression of what I see in my subject. I am drawn to the quiet mystery of light, shadows, shapes and colors of the natural world and the creatures that reside there. My goal is to share my inspiration and appreciation with whoever stops to look at my art.
