How to get started on ArtByUs.com - From registration to bidding to completing your transaction by leaving feedback for the seller, this list should give you the direction...
- Browsing the art on ArtByUs.com is easy - you can browse by category, by pricerange, by keywords, by seller and other methods.
Just click the appropriate link to your left or right side of the screen. - If you are shopping for something more specific, you can use our search function - the advanced search link below the search field will give you many options for optimizing your search.
You can search by seller, location, group memberships, artist name, etc. there. - To view the artwork you are interested in, just click on the title or the thumbnail image.
- To see more auctions from the artist whose work you are viewing, just click the "view seller's gallery" link in the box on the right side of the auction page.
- Before placing your bid, make sure you read and understand the artist's transaction rules. If you have questions about shipping costs, item specifics, etc., make sure you contact the artist BEFORE you place your bid.
By bidding on an item on ArtByUs.com you are entering a legally binding contract to purchase that item at the price stated - so make sure you understand all terms before bidding. - To bid on items on ArtByUs, you need to be a registered user.
Click the "register" link in the top menu to start.
Make sure your spamfilters are off, so the confirmation email can get through to you. - To purchase an item without waiting for the auction to end, you can use the "buy it now" button to purchase the art right away if the seller has made that option available in their auction.
- After the auction has ended, you will need to contact the seller to finalize your transaction.
Usually the seller will send you an invoice so you can pay through paypal or whichever way the two of you agree on. - Make sure you pay the seller within the allotted timeframe to avoid misunderstandings and ill will from your seller. Paid artists are happy artists, are better artists. Help keep the art world a happy place by paying for your purchase on time.
- Good Communication is key to a good transaction - make sure to keep in contact with the seller if there are any issues that arise.
- Once you have received your piece of artwork, make sure you leave feedback for the seller. Not only does it let the artist know that you have received your item, it also is a good way for other users to see how the transaction with that specific user went.
