globe artichokes from seed

Ranked #32,299 in Home & Garden, #587,049 overall

I had always started from roots, decided it was time to try it from seed

I wrapped the seeds in a bit of papertowel, soaked it with water and put it in a baggie in the fridge for a coupla weeks before planting, to simulate winter. That seemed to do the trick as I had 100% germination.

this Globe Artichoke was started a couple months ago and is now in a one gallon purple pot

Gophers have largely decimated my asparagus plants in the past couple years, so new plants are in constant demand. Even when planted in metal hardware cloth cages, the gophers eat everything outside the screen, it is very depressing.
