2011: The Google Tsunami For Article Marketers and Bloggers

This year (2011) google penalized hard those sites they considered as "content farms" (sites with lot of duplicate content or content with low value). This hitted hard lots of sites including EzineArticles.com and ArticlesBase.com terminating the traffic that 1000's of interenet marketers were getting from them.

The problem didn't end there. There are 10000's of blog/site owners using lot of duplicate content or spun content. Since 2009, uploading rewritten content (generated by an article rewriting software or article spinner like thebestspinner) seemed to work well. Many marketers used
to pick an article (plr article), then used a tool to rewrite it and Google indexed those rewritten articles. But that is something from the past.

The Panda Update Now Detects Spun Content.

The latest Google update ended with the party of rewritten content. No matter which tool you're using, now they easily find patterns that see that the structure from article B (the rewritten article) comes from article A (the original article). And guess what...those pages will go to the last page of Google (if this did not happen yet).

If you're a site/blog owner, try to reduce duplicate content by all means. There's nothing bad with this update if your site has a small % of duplicate content. Otherwise (if you exceed), you won't escape from the Panda effects.

Is Article Marketing Dead?

Well, i wouldn't say that. The reality is that some sites where article marketers used to post their content are dead. But there are many sites that perfectly survived the update. Why? Because they are moderated by the owners (or spammers didn't attacked it yet). That's the simple answer.

What About Tools Like Senuke, Brute Force Seo, Systems Like Link Wheels Etc?

They've been hitted too. The problem is that many of those tools (senuke and other link wheel creators), usually work with spun content (they submit different variations of one article to multiple sites) which google now easily detects. But things doesn't end there...they also submit those spun articles (which google can easily trace) to web 2.0 sites that have been affected by the farmer update. A waste of time.

Tools For Article Marketers that Survived the Panda Update

The only tools that survived this big update are those that combine an article generator WITH a spinner (like Smart Article Generator and others) but not tools that only "rewrite articles".

Remember that google now detects a rewritten article: Article B (rewritten) having the same structure as Article A (original). This is why the tools that combine a generator with a rewriter still work well, because you don't rewrite an article that currently exists online, you rewrite an article generated by the software.

Forget EzineArticles.com, ArticlesBase.com, Articlesnatch.com, ArticleDashboard.com and others. Consider sites like those we've published before (among others), but don't waste your time uploading content to sites that Google doesn't seem to like anymore.
