Squidoo is an article writing forum and has some great tools to help you earn income. If you are reading this you may be a Squidooer and understand the benefits of this great site. But if not let me just cover the basics for you.

Squidoo is a community based site developed by Seth Godin. Squidoo is designed for users to create pages (called lenses) for all subjects. Lenses are interactive, and can contain many eye catching tools. Squidoo is in the top 200 most visited sites in the world, and in the top 50 most viewed in the United States. One of the coolest things is it has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to charity. You pick your charity and decide what percent you would like to donate.

Squidoo allows you to add Youtube videos, Flickr photos, Some HTML, Amazon adds, Cafe Press items, Zazzle items Ebay products, RSS, URL links and the list goes on. The more lenses you create the more your revenue increases.

Squidoo has templates that help you build your lens and over time it gets easier, with great traffic. Squidoo also has tools to check your skills like Squidutils. Squidoo is great place to learn article writing techniques and build a following of readers.

Factoidz is an amazing article community where people can ask questions and other people can write articles to answer those questions. Factoidz is great for getting your work out there and viewed by thousands and potentially millions of people. You don't even have to write articles to be a member of Factoidz. If you just like answering others questions and showing off your knowledge this is the place.

Factoidz earns revenue from Google Adsense advertising. You have to post a 400 word plus article every three days to keep 100 percent of the Adsense revenue. The more articles you write the more viewers you will potentially get, this will increase your revenue.

At factoidz you become experts in your field. If you happen to know a lot about parenting, then post articles about parenting and answer questions about parenting. Members will vote you up if you know what you are talking about. This voting gets your expert ranking higher and helps you get viewed in a particular category.

Hubpages is community based website very similar to Squidoo and Factoidz. But Hubpages just reached a milestone on June 9th, 2009, on this day Hubpages had over one million views. Talk about article exposure! Hubpages is ranked in the top 150 sites. If you are looking to find readers Hubpages can help you get there.

When you sing up for Hubpages you become a Hubber and you achieve a Hub Score for the average scores of each of your articles. The higher the score the more exposure you will have.

To earn revenue with Hubpages you need an account with one of the following: Google Adsense, Kontera, Ebay or Amazon. You just add your account number and the team at Hubpages does the rest, all you have to worry about is writing good content.

Ezine Articles is a little different than the sites I have described previously. Ezine is more designed for people that want to get a message out and less on the income. Ezine does not provide any income links directly on the articles. But it will provide traffic for your personal blog or other articles.

Ezine was established in 1999 and has a vast list of articles. Ezine is highly respected in the article marketing segment. You can get high rankings on Google, MSN and yahoo with Ezine.

I have just giving you a taste of what is out in cyberspace, there is a lot more sites like I have just described, each providing a similar twist. But I am sure you are wondering if you really can make any money doing article writing. Well it is a simple trick of numbers like any sales ratio, more readers, viewers or follows, the more clicks to what ever you are promoting.

In the sales and marketing world many describe a ratio of amount of particular contacts, will result in an amount of particular sales pitches thus resulting in an amount of given sales. This ratio will changes based on product, information, salesmanship, advertising, brand recognition and so on.

Well marketing on the web is very similar and article writing is just the way to get this exposure. Think about the lines in a spiderweb, going out from the center to the outer edge. Think of those lines of every article you right. The more articles the more dense the web becomes. Then think the the crossing spider web lines as lines from article to article. Now this concept does really work. This is achieve through the past rankings of the main site, here is an example. Squidoo.com is ranked in Google at 500 and one of my lenses is ranked at 500. If I had wrote my own blog of the exact article it would make months to get to 500 and it may not ever make it. Many of these articles site will provide the same scenario for your article.

Another great aspect of article writing through one of these forums is the fact that it will build great back links to any site you want. High ranking sites, back linked to your personal blog or site helps build your rankings.
