Spreading The Squid Love

Before the cuddly one-eyed Squid infiltrated my life I was building article directories in very specific niches. Blessed with some great generic domains, it seemed a whole lot more useful than those spammy parking lot pages that add absolutely no value to anyone (except maybe the owner of the parking lot).

Following the introduction of each niche directory are some special offers I extend to fellow lensmasters. Granted, the design is not as ritzi as some designer sites, but they are efficient. (AND they will love you just for being a squid!)

With our eternal quest for backlinks and exposure for our lenses I hope you will some value in one of my offers here.

The Homeownership Information Directory is a well established article repository encompassing the topics Home & Family, Home Finance, Home Maintenance, Interior Design, Gardening, Landscaping, etc. There's a vast range of categories waiting to be adopted.

Currently has well over 30,000 indexed pages, however the Big G likes to rollercoaster with this site from month to month. Sometimes the index "knows" of only 12 or 15k pages. Pagerank was just upgraded to 3/10.

Niche Directory: Party Planner Central

PartyPlanner.biz is an up and coming Article Directory in the Party Planning niche.

This directory is fairly new and the categories still need to be expanded. They currently encompass the following topics:

Baby Shower
Bachelor Party
Birthday Party
Bridal Shower
Children's Party
Dinner Party
Party Supplies
Wedding

As you can see, there is lots of room for improvement. A good chance to "adopt" the category of your choice.

Currently over 6,500 indexed pages on G. Pagerank just bounced from 0 to 2/10.

Inspired by the "Adopt-a-Highway" program of our local Department of Transportation, I am offering Squidoo lensmasters the opportunity to get featured exposure in the article directory and category of their choice.

If you are willing to write a unique article that hasn't been published anywhere else, and that is highly relevant to the chosen category, I will publish it in full length on the category page, before the list of all other related articles. You can include a resource box and up to 2 relevant links.

It doesn't have to be a literary masterpiece of epic proportions. 3 to 5 paragraphs would suffice.

From time to time you could publish something new, and the previous article will go into the archive to be available forever more...

Interview With A Squid 

Anyone who is interested in being interviewed about a topic pertinent to one of the article directories will get featured in "Anne's Column" on the front page, including 2 backlinks of your choice.

The interview will remain on the front page for at least a week. Depending on the amount of interest, it may be there much longer.

The same goes if you want to write an editorial style feature article of interest for the whole directory.

Special Considerations For Angels and Giants 

Giant Squids and Angels are established Squidsperts, and they are very busy. For all they do to make Squidoo as successful as it is today, Angels and Giants deserve special recognition, not just on Squidoo.

Any Giant Squid or Squid Angel contributing something unique will get a link on the right sidebar for 3 months, from the time of their latest contribution, thus potentially getting links from thousands of pages. (see the directory descriptions for current figures)

Niche Directories and Their Value 

Unless you submit a worn out PLR article for the umpteenth time, niche directories are a better place for your valuable content. For one, the topic of the directory will be more relevant to your site, which gives it more authority. And the chances of being found by someone interested in what you have written are probably greater in a topic focused environment.
