    Great tips fo wiritng article,s. I went on a sustained article campaigh, wrote over 5o articles for my niche and submitted to multiple sites, it brought in a floo of taffic and new leads but I had to be consistant so my articles were feature on 24 hour high traffic page, great free way to get leads. You have to put the time in though.

    One good way to get article ideas is to do keyword research, which will give you ideas and a keyword-optimized title at the same time. I think of article marketing as a free method of site promotion. If you want to spend money, why not just buy advertising?

    I've written a ton of articles (just one on Squidoo, so far) and I've got to say that it is never easy for me to begin. But, once I put the pedal to the metal or rather, fingers to the keyboard, the words start pouring out. If I can steal a line from Nike, "Just do it."

    Been trying some free writing in the last few months effectively writing for 10 minutes at a time and then leaving for 24 hours before edit. Proved very effective. Good advice from Ed Dale on the Challenge

    It is indeed the importance of relevant interest to be given to writing articles in our site and as a friend here says it is important to check before you submit and publish content to directories than doubled to avoid being penalized by Google there some plugins on the web that can be used to compare these items when editing this helps you to see which is the percentage of words that are similar between the two.

    Great article. My only comment would be the link to the article submitting company. If you are writing an article primarily for SEO purposes, you have to be very careful about submitting your article, especially to multiple sources. Google has been cracking down on duplicate content and will devalue your article if it appears all over the internet.

    I haven't seen that to be the case. I think what is more of an issue is duplicate pages. If each site has their own unique page, then it's not duplicate. I think people tend to go overboard on this issue.

    You have a great lens. I am just beginning to examine promotion carefully by writing articles. From another lensmaster, I got a list of his recommended "directories" to post. I looked at his first 10, selected 3 directories where I posted articles. I selected the forums that has a "fit" with my interests and topics. I will be looking at your recommendations also. I know how to write articles, but need to learn about promoting them via quality forums and backlinks as I am able to gain experience on this task. Further discussons most welcome !     Writers don't generally pay to get people to read their material. Other people pay them.

    A good source for ideas of what to write about is to look at the Dummie books for your topic. You know How To Win at Love for Dummies. Simply looking at the table of contents can give you some great ideas of what to write about in your top. Write one article on each category. YOu can view them on-line these days.

    Thanks for the great content and interesting information. I can't still right articles in less than one hour but I am close. Besides writing content for my Squidoo lenses, I recently wrote several articles for Dental Marketing Blog with the pen name of dental marketing expert:

    Also some other articles for some other websites about dental marketing. At first it took me a long time to write one article but as I write more it gets faster and easier. Here are a couple of important points from my experience:
    1- One of the things that helped me boost my confidence at first was help of professional editors. I think if you write and you know that an expert will re-check your work, then you have more confidence while you are writing. Also it definitely helps when you compare the edited version with your version. Paying attention to the differences helps you write better.
    2- I can't agree more with your points about title and content of the articles. I just want to emphasize them even more. From my experience, it helps if you write all of the titles that are interesting and have SEO value in a separate file. Then once in a while when you are in the writing mood it gives you a jump start.

    Great lens! I agree so much with step 11. Re-read your article and proofread again. I have been writing programming tutorials for years now and each time I look back on a tutorial I'd created a long time ago, it looks so much different and I find lots of things that I would rewrite differently.     Good information. I used to find it difficult to write content, but the thing that has helped me the most is to... write! At the end of the day, the more you practice (even when you really don't want to!), the easier it gets.

    No it doesn't work like that. There is no penalization for duplicate content. In fact I use other's articles on some of my blogs and they rank in the search engines just fine. It's all in how you use the content.

    I think this is why the lenswriter emphasized the importance of changing up your article for each submission - I believe there are also services that will do this for you. You're right though - just submitting the same article multiple places would be duplicate content and end up hurting you.

    You have some super info on this lens for writing articles. I like to work on the basis of writing one article and then doing a rewrite on a per sentence basis to get three more articles on the same subject. I end up with four original articles that I can use to send to where I need them to go. One to the blog, another to a revenue sharing site and the other two to get some back links.

    the ideas mentioned here about submitting the article to 100s of site is total crap. This is a advanced spamming activity that will eventually screw the web. I feel real bad about those site what will accept a piece of copied content that is already being screwed around in 100 more sites.

    Article submission is total crap if you don't do it properly and are using it to spam and not provide value. If you put out good content, you will get great results that continue to improve your rankings. Good content is good content period and will always benefit the site and the writer.

    It's not hard to write. You just need to Find What you want to write about, and then You need to Research that Subject if You happen to Not know Very Much about it. I think the most important is the latter. You need to know what you are talking about if you want to write about it. Good Content Here on this Lens.

    If you really don't know anything about what you are writing, Then you can actually go and Pull Little Sections or "thoughts" out of other articles, and just add your Views or Personality to it.

    I always read my articles out loud, because I can hear problems easier than I can see them. Since I know what it is supposed to say, my eyes will sometimes skip over missed words without noticing, but hearing it read out loud, I catch missing words and make corrections.

    I think that one of the biggest hurdles for writing articles is just getting started! One of the ways I sometimes get past that is to sit down, open up Notepad or Word, and say - "Ok, for just 5 minutes I'm going to write. I have no clue what I'm going to write about, but by George, I'm just going to WRITE for 5 minutes!"

    Then, I'll just brainstorm stuff... and sometimes it suddenly begins to take shape into an idea! That 5 minutes can easily turn into 30 minutes - and an article! Of course, it doesn't ALWAYS work. :) But, it's a way to feel like you did SOMETHING on those days where it seems difficult to get going.

    Hi, some great advice here and I have to say using article writting and submission is a great way of generating traffic and is of course free. One article can go a long way if you submit it to lots of article sites. The most important thing is to keep at it and in time your efforts will be rewarded. Also I believe in using multiple ways of traffic generation all at the same time, a few visitors from here and a few from there all add up. Gordon
