Wolf Kahn 2012 Calendar

Wolf Kahn (American, b. Germany 1927) is a leading American painter and a colorist whose visible work provides the stimulus for his paintings. These provide subtle sensory pleasures related to the optical mixing of the colour and the design of colour which the scenes he represents. This calendar mixes landscapes and waterscapes with paintings of buildings.

His paintings are included in the permanent collections of many museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Kahn has been honored with Fulbright and Guggenheim Fellowships and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

Wayne Thiebaud 2012 Wall Calendar

I was fortunate enough to get up close to a Wayne Thiebaud (b. 1922) recently at Christies auction rooms in London - and I can tell you that his paintings of cakes are good enough to eat!

He became famous in the 1960s due to his paintings of cakes, pies, and other everyday objects. However he also paints cityscapes and aerial landscapes.

The twelve paintings reproduced in this calendar include West Side Ridge, Rosebud Cakes, Tie Pile, Cat and Building, Y River, Buffet, Shoe Rows, 5 Cent Machine, and four more.

Tom Thomson 2012 Wall Calendar

Tom Thomson (1877-1917) is a revered Canadian Artist who created hundreds of oil paintings-many of them completed in only a few hours. They remain masterpieces of Canadian art. His work and style influenced the creation of the Group of Seven who went on to record the Candian landscape in paint.
