Weird Al has to be one of the most creative musical artists out there.
Although he has one part easier than most - the music is written for him some of the time. He creates his own sets of lyrics to go with the song - and they are usually extremely funny.
Some of my favorites include the eBay song (of course, being an avid eBayer), Amish Paradise, Like a Surgeon, I Lost on Jeopardy, I Love Rocky Road, I Think I'm A Clone Now, and A Complicated Song.
He has also created some original music, and that's just as funny and odd : Christmas at Ground Zero (came out in 1986, well before the Ground Zero name became associated with 9/11), Hardware Store, Melanie, and Bob (my husband's favorite).
One of his repeated techniques is to take a group of modern music songs, and adapt them to a Polka song (he is a talented Accordian player, and his father was a well known Polka musician). It is SO funny to hear the words from a rap song being sung to Polka music!!
He even has a MySpace Page! He actually blogs there on occassion, and sells merchandise and shows videos. It's so cool! I'm excited to have him on my Friends list on MySpace! He has over 614,000 friends, so I get lost among the many fans there. He also has his own website at (of course) http://www.weirdal.com.

Alfred Matthew "Weird Al" Yankovic (; born October 23, 1959) is a Grammy Award winning American singer, musician, actor, satirist, parodist, songwriter, music producer, accordionist, and television producer. Yankovic is known in particular for his humorous songs that make light of popular culture and that often parody specific songs by contemporary musical acts. Since his first-aired song parody in 1979, he has sold more than 12 million albums?more than any other comedy act in history? recorded more than 150 parody and original songs, and has performed more than 1,000 live shows. His works have earned him three Grammy Awards among nine nominations, four gold records, and six platinum records in the United States. Yankovic's first top ten Billboard album (Straight Outta Lynwood) and single ("White & Nerdy") were both released in 2006, nearly three decades into his career.
In addition to recording his albums, Yankovic has written and starred in his own film, UHF, and his own television show, The Weird Al Show, and directed music videos for himself and other artists including Ben Folds, Hanson, and The Presidents of the United States of America. He has also made guest appearances on television shows such as Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, The Simpsons, Behind the Music, Johnny Bravo, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Sabrina, the Animated Series, Square One Television, Mathnet, Robot Chicken, and Category: Transformers: Animated - in addition to starring in his own Al TV specials.
Six reasons to love Weird Al Yankovic
2) He is so creative, finding just the write music/lyric combinations to get the maximum out of a project.
3) He wrote an eBay song - no eBayer doesn't love The eBay song
4) I've gotten to see in him concert twice - and his live show is simply amazing. He's so full of energy, and goes a variety of songs (his golden oldies as well as his new material). If you'd like to see if he'll be in your area, check out this catalog of
