We are taking a week to complete a study of Chinese art this term and I gathered a few resources.

I will be adding more information as we go through the week.

The Art Of China 

These links will help your child find more information on ancient Chinese art. We are using these along with a study of Marco Polo.

This link gives you information about the different periods of art history in China.
A Look at Chinese Painting
This link takes you to an interactive page to learn more about Chinese painting. It is presented by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Chinese Brush Painting Week Photos 

My boys really enjoyed this project once they got started. The kit even includes the materials to make your own black ink which they then used in their paintings.

Painting Using the Kit Recommended Above 

After one session of practice with the brush and paints, my fourteen year old son was able to follow the directions in the book to complete this painting. He really liked the results.
