ArtRage 3 - Digital Painting With Watercolours!
Ranked #1,458 in Arts & Design, #17,010 overall | Donates to Squidoo Charity Fund, ASPCA
ArtRage 3 : Studio and Studio Pro
ArtRage is a delightful natural painting program that I have been using to paint with for over two years - nearly the entirety of my 'professional' painting career. Much loved by users for its ease of use and the replication of natural media, such as paints, canvases and chalk. ArtRage 3 was released on 15th December 2009 PST
And IF I can wait that long, it'll make me the perfect artistic Christmas present! (So if you don't think you can afford it, or don't have a credit card, just send this page to someone as a hint - I'll confirm the 'how to buy' instructions when it comes out but they'll almost certainly be exactly the same as ArtRage 2.5 - that is, pay online and get an emailed registration code - see this section for ideas and instructions). It also makes a very good last minute gift for Xmas, because you can simply download it.
I am gathering all the available information about the new edition, its price, contents and release date, here on this page. Over time, I hope to add tutorials and further information, as well as art created in this version. For those worried about their current version - it will not stop working. Upgrading is completely optional, and you will be able to have both programs if you wish.
For newcomers, I strongly recommend trying the free version - easily downloaded from the website.
For those considering buying ArtRage 2.5 - go ahead. You will be able to upgrade for the price difference. And the Deluxe (boxed) edition is now being sold off very cheaply on Amazon!
For those who want help and tutorials for the current version, go to the lenses I've linked below. For those looking for more information about ArtRage 3... read on.

Forum announcement while the developers head to bed: (Small team on NZ time)
1. I didn't get the expected $25 discount.
Please contact us at support@artrage.com, we are processing partial refunds for users who receive the wrong discount.
2. I can't log in to the ArtRage Member Area.
Firstly, make sure you have registered. If the system says it can't find your email address then you probably haven't. The Member Area and Forum currently both require registration, registering for one does not register you for the other.
If you receive password errors when trying to log in, use the Lost Password button to retrieve your password.
If you still have problems logging in please let us know at support@artrage.com, some users may have difficulties if their original registered email address contains some characters or capital letters. We are currently looking in to a solution for this.
3. When I try to purchase I get a failure due to a $0 total value.
If you are trying to purchase but having a problem after you enter your coupon and click to finalise your purchase, receiving an error indicating that the purchase is below the minimum amount and indicating a $0 total cost, you may need to turn cookies on for the store. Please clear your browser cache, activate cookies and try again, that should solve the problem.
If it does not, please contact support@artrage.com for further assistance.
Other Points - paying and claiming your discount
The code for the discount is entered at the bottom on the very last page, before paying. Do NOT worry, unless you get to the credit card page and it's still showing the full price.
Paypal and other options
If you're paying in something other than US dollars, Paypal may not appear as an option - as well as some credit cards and other payment options. Just change the currency and refresh to get the new choices.

ArtRage 3 and Linux
Installing For Ubuntu Users
I'm not a Linux user, but this thread tracks the issues and sulutions so far for those trying to install ArtRage 3As far as I can see, the main issue is the downloading - so if you install ArtRage 3 on another system, then copy the files over it should work. Either way, have a read through and leave questions there.
At least one person has it working: Installation fails but ArtRage 3 works from an installation folder copied from windows, with wine2 (beta version 1.1.3.4 from wineHQ PPA) on Ubuntu 9.10, 64bit.

Books About Painting With ArtRage
Fantasy Art For Beginners - by Jon Hodgson
There's not much in the way of digital art books about ArtRage - there's the new ARTRAGEus magazine, and then there's Fantasy Art For Beginners. Luckily the latter is very very good. It covers more than one program, but ArtRage gets a showing.
It's a very good book for beginners and you can read mor ein the way of reviews, get a sneak peak and watch the videos introducing it on the old ArtRage Tutorials and Resources page.
Reviews of ArtRage 3
ImagineFX Issue 51 - The ArtRage 3 review
While the ArtRage team will be updating the main site 'soon' with details of what the next version of ArtRage will have, the only known review is currently in the magazine ImagineFX 51. Some preview photos have been posted on the ArtRage Forums. It shows some of the tutorial image - a sort of 'Gulliver in the hands of Lilliputian dentists/Pratchett Nomes' picture, by Nick Harris. It includes fove or six pages of ArtRage 3 tips and instructions, and comes with a CD with 2.5 hours of QT movies about the v3.0 interface. These include watching the creation of the painting by Nick Harris (drawing and watercolouring). So we also know that there is an inking pen, as well as some very realistic watercolour. Note: the price is for a full year's subscription, not for a single issue. Also, for those wondering when ArtRage Studio Pro is actually coming out...
"NEXT ISSUE! We give our verdict on ArtRage 3 and you can trial it on the DVD... Issue 52 on sale 15 Dec."

Packed with beginner-friendly workshops, reader galleries, tips and reviews, ImagineFX is geared towards the digital artist and goes behind the image to find out more about artists, deconstructing their work and getting to grips with their thoughts and working processes.
Insider information from the ArtRage forums tells us that there are about five or six pages of tips and information and a disc that contains about 2.5 hours of QT movies on the v3.0 interface, and the creation of the painting used for the tutorial (drawing and watercolours, by Nick Harris). Some preview photos have been posted here (Gulliver and Lilliputian dentists, by the looks of it!)

ArtRage 3: What is it? And what do we know?
Everything you ever want or need in a painting application
There's a new edition coming out... one that's been in the works a long time, and has been eagerly anticipated by ArtRage painters. A new edition fixing any bugs in the last one. A more customisable interface, greater compatability with Photoshop, some very exciting secret inclusions... it's been rewritten from the base up. Watch out Adobe and Corel!Rumoured to incorporate the mythical watercolour paint. Improved brushes. More choices. Colours never seen in the spectrum of this universe. Dancing cats. Free chocolate! Comes wrapped in the satin made from an antique wedding dress, carried by a trunk with hundreds of little legs!
The screenshot above is of one of the possible toolpicker variants, and from what I can see contains...
Rotate and scaling tools, colour picker, fill, and selection tools and text.
A slightly more advanced scaling adjusterthing.
Two differently shaped brushes (flat and pointed), a palette knife, an... air brush? Something shiny and metallic, anyway; pencil, paint roller, inking pen, larger pen, felt pen, crayon, pastel? chalk, tube/oil, glitter, eraser and... stickers*? A footprint tool that could be a stencil shortcut.
More information further down.
New
A Watercolor brush, an auto smoothing Inking Pen for fine line work, Flood Fill, a Selection tool, a Text Tool that allows live editing of text on layers, the special effect Gloop Pen, and more.
Real Color Blending mode in which yellow and red make orange (hmm, hope we get to keep the old way as well, I liked that)
- ability to store tool presets
- more options on the old tools
- DPI support for all formats, not just PTG and PSD
- straight lines
- panels are now moveable.
- paintable selection areas
- enhanced Photoshop Filter support
Two Versions
Studio - standard
Studio Pro - more professional, extra editing options, color adjustment and blur capabilities

What's New in ArtRage 3? Watercolours are!
Watercolours, and a Video Introduction from Judith Tremayne

The original Dragon and Monk were done using traditional watercolors on watercolor paper. For fun, I traced my original image and then colored it again using ArtRage 3's Watercolor tool. It came out pretty close I think.
What else is new?
Square oil brush, watercolour brush, smooth inking pen,
Color!
Pencil shading, gloop pen, fill tool
STICKERS!
And the sticker spray tool, transform tool, selection tool,
Photoshop filters!
More about Filters
# Color Adjustment built in filter
# Photoshop compatible filter support
ArtRage Studio Pro has two built-in image processing effects, and also supports many industry-standard plugin image filter effects. The built-in effects are:
- Blur: applies a Gaussian blur to the layer
- Colour Adjust: Tweak the Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Colour richness of the layer (either as paint colour before lighting is applied, or as a flat layer bitmap)

Stickers! The New Secret Tool!
Like Photoshop brushes... but BETTER
" So you want to decorate a tree with baubles but you're not sure which baubles to use? No problem! Just open up a sheet of bauble Stickers and drag the ones you want on to your canvas. When they're there, you can scale, rotate and move them around without losing image quality, and delete them if you want to later.Want a thousand pebbles on a beach? Sure! Pick up the Sticker Spray, select a Pebbles sheet and spray them on to the canvas. The Sticker Spray can adjust their size intelligently as you spray so you don't have to worry about changing tool size for perspective.
Sprayed a hundred crows on to the canvas but one just looks wrong? Easy to fix: Stickers take the 'Undo-Repeat' out of the process of creating that perfect flock. In ArtRage Studio Pro, sprayed stickers are micro-layer objects so you can post-edit any of them so that one annoying crow can be moved, scaled, rotated or deleted without affecting any of the others in your carefully constructed flock.
Best of all, stickers aren't just flat color images. They support texture, gloss, and metallicity so you can take advantage of all of the visual effects ArtRage has to offer with every sticker you place or spray."

What are the Differences between ArtRage Studio and Studio Pro?
Advanced features
Studio Pro ('professional') is the full featured edition and has a few more options and capabilites than the cheaper Studio version. For a full list of everything yet known, and the new features added since ArtRage 2.5, scroll down to the ArtRage Product Line Feature Comparison. Most of the extra options in Studio Pro are must haves for the experienced digital artist, but won't be missed by anyone else (for example, Photoshop filters). They are often harder to use or understand and have higher computer requirements. On the other hand, some of them are extremely fun! (The palette knife options... <3 )
"Studio isn't a cut-down, cheap 'lite' version of Studio Pro, it's a complete product that provides what we believe is the best support for the mid-range of our user base."
The main differences between the two versions of ArtRage 3 are:
Stickers.
You can only make new ones in Studio Pro - you can add more to the Studio version, and as they are created, you will be able to find links and information on this lens
The sticker spray is also resticted to the Pro version.
Real Colour Blending.
Studio Pro supports real colour blending - in which blue and yellow make green, rather than (or as well as - it's an option) the usual colour mixing. I actually prefer the 'usual' one, as it often comes up with fantastic colour combinations!
The 'usual' colour mixing method - standard digital RGB colour blending - is the default for most art programs.
The reason for this being restricted to Studio Pro (along with many of the other features) is that it is more processor intensive, and for the most part, only experienced or extremely demanding artists will need it.
Tool Options
Studio Pro has a much wider range of options for painting and editing tools such as the airbrush, palette knife, inking pen, selection tool, colour pickers, and layer options. Text can be added in both versions, but Studio is more limited.
Image Filtering
Only available in Studio Pro
Tear-off menus
Some of the extra menus can be moved around - in Studio Pro.

How To Buy ArtRage as a Christmas Present
Christmas is coming! Make the Artist in your family very happy!
I know that I'd really want ArtRage for Christmas i if I wasn't getting it as soon as it comes out! But what about you? Do you have a child, or a sibling or a relative or a friend who uses ArtRage? Or spends ages trying to make pictures in MSPaint? Or is always stealing your computer to use ArtRage? Or loves drawing and leaves their sticky paintings all over the carpet and rubs crumbled crayon into the cat? Or really wants to get started, but can't afford Photoshop?
Then buy them ArtRage for christmas!
But how?
The downside of ArtRage is that it downloaded from the website. This is also a great advantage, in that you can send it to someone on the other side of the world, and if something happens to the computer, you can easily get your copy back. But it does make it hard to wrap it up.
(oh, disclaimer - I make no commission on sales directly from the Ambient Design Website - this is pure fan love :D )
Part one: Buying ArtRage
First, you need to decide which version. For a younger child, or someone you aren't sure will take it seriously, buy them ArtRage 2.5 or ArtRage Studio. They CAN upgrade if they wish. For the more serious artist (or if you just have the money!) get them ArtRage Studio Pro.
For prices, and the known differences read the rest of this page. ArtRage 3 is not quite out yet, (hopefully any day, though!) but you can buy ArtRage 2.5 and take advantage of the introductory offer to upgrade - for the same total price.
Second, you need to actually buy the program. Or rather, you need the registration code. You can download the program itself from the purchase page. To pay and recieve your registration key:
1. Go to the ArtRage Purchase Page on the website
2. Choose Mac OSX or Windows
3. Pay! (Paypal, Credit card, cash, check, money order, wire transfer or purchase order)
Payments go through the Kagi website
4. You will have to enter an email address
5. Kagi sends you a receipt with a 20-digit long code of letters/numbers, which is your registration key. Do not, ever, ever lose this email - or rather, the code.
6. Make sure you have downloaded the correct Edition
7. Start it up, and enter the registration key.
More information about upgrading and availability here
More information about technical specificitations here
Part Two: Giving it as a Gift
Easy: You can simply email them the registration code, or enter their email.
The first way, you get to add instructions and messages and check it worked. The second way, they can go back to Kagi if they need the registration key resent without needing to contact you (if they back it up elsewhere, then they don't need to do this).
Nicer: Print out the code nicely (for example, on a voucher) or write it down in a card.
(keep the email as a backup).
Even Nicer: Download the program and copy it to a CD-ROM and give them that along with the registration code as a file on the CD, or using one of the above methods. (Note: there is no point in registering it, unless you are either testing it, or you have access to their computer, as it needs to be reregistered if you install it on a new computer)
“The Rage Programmers completely blew me away with the new things they included.”

Gathering Questions and Answers
if you have a question, feel free to ask it in the Reader Feedback section below or this thread and I'll add it here, and update with the answers! Please be aware that some issues, especially around pricing and upgrading, may change as they are still being decided on.Firstly, and most importantly - have they managed to chase that cat out of the program?
(Tycho is Ambient Design's resident cat, who pops up here and there in ArtRage 2.5 )
Yes. Seems he couldn't resist the new shiny toy :D
Can I upgrade my current 2.5 version?
Yes. For a reduced price you can upgrade your current version of ArtRage
Can I upgrade from Studio to Studio Pro?
Yes. There will be upgrade pricing from ArtRage Studio to ArtRage Studio Pro. But you wont need it because when you see the full feature set of ArtRage Studio Pro you'll just get that one straight away anyway. from AndyRage
Can I keep my old version as well as the new version?
Yes, and they will work quite happily on the same computer. BUT if you use your current registration to update, you can't use that registration key to upgrade from ArtRage 2.5 again.
Your original copy of 2 will not stop working and can be run on the same machine. Our intention here is to make it clear that your key is non transferrable, so you can't upgrade to 3 then pass on the 2 key to another user, as that key has already been registered to you and cannot be used to upgrade again.
Will I be able to trial the new versions?
Yes, there will be a demo version.
Will ArtRage 2.5 and the Free edition still be available from the site?
Yes, they will, so if you just want to get started, ArtRage 2.5 is $25
Will ArtRage 2.5 continue to be available on disk?
Will Educational licenses still be available?
More about Educational licenses in ArtRage 2.5
Yes they will. Details still being decided.
Will the online download versions of AR3 be released the same time as the versions put on store shelves?
No retail store version is available (yet). The only place to buy ArtRage Studio and Studio Pro, at least immediately, will be directly from the ArtRage site.
Will it be available off the shelf (as in, not through Amazon or downloaded via the ArtRage site, for those who want a non credit card/paypal option) ?
No. See above. (ArtRage 2.5 was not - only with Wacom, via Amazon or directly downloaded)
And will it be available in Russia?
See above.
What languages will it be available in? (Russian?) and will there be projects to help translate it?
ArtRage 2.5 was available in German and French. ArtRage Studio and Studio Pro are available in English, German, French and Dutch (Français, Deutsch, Nederlands). You can change the language from within ArtRage.
What version will come with the Wacom tablets from now on? And are there any issues with upgrading with a Wacom-issued registration key?
Is there an affiliate program for ArtRage?
Yes. The Kagi online store allows affiliate programs. Details will be available soon.
The tree is a sample (larger version here) to demonstrate the watercolour effects, and is used in the screenshot preview on the Official intro page for ArtRage Studio
ArtRage is an Easy Program to Use
The ArtRage team has designed Artrage to be
- easy to install, update and register
- not gadget hungry. Computer requirements have been kept low.
- FUN. Funfunfunfunfunfun
- to have pretty colours
- and colors
- Easy & intuitive to use. It's a painting program, not a photo editor (like Photoshop!)
Will you be upgrading?
Or will you hang on to the old version?
So, buy ArtRage 3, wait for the manual, buy two copies... don't buy ArtRage at all... what do you intend to do?
Will you get rid of ArtRage 2.5 and upgrade to ArtRage 3?
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byCertainly not!

While I'm dreadfull excited, I'm a bit nervous about losing my 'known' painting program. I may wait for the manual... (not that I'll READ it) :D

I will keep both. But I know I will move fully to the new program once I get the hang of it. AR2.5 was a breeze to learn so I expect AR3 will be the same. I haven't used a manual for a new tech toy for as long as I can remember! Half the fun is in the learning on your own.

Questions and Answers about the Painting Tools
DOES it have watercolour?
REALLY?
Yes
Will there be a Ctrl+Alt+Click&Drag shortcut for changing tool's size?
See this discussion for the explanation of that
Yes. Demonstrated in Nick's ImagineFX video (on the included CD)
Will it have watercolours?
Yes! STILL yes! And a flood-fill tool, and text on layers.
Will the colours mix more realistically?
Yes! This is the Real Colour Blending mode
Where's the pastel tool??
The pastel tool is now called 'Chalk'. It still acts the same way (more or less!)
What cursors will it have? Will there be a simple arrow cursor?
Will there be a left-click colour sampler? (E.g. like Sai)
Will the Transform Tool allow Perspective style transformations, or is it limited to Scale and Rotate?
The transform tool currently will do move, rotate, uniform- and non-uniform scale.
However as ArtRage Studio Pro supports third-party plugins there are other options for perspective transformations.
Is the airbrush still really slow?
No. A great deal of the underlying engine has been improved, to produce better results with less. The airbrush is now nearly twice as fast, has double the precision and more blending options.
Is it possible to vary the color, hue, saturation and brightness in the Sticker tool?
Yes!
Do the colours run when you tilt your notebook?
Yes. You will have to be very careful never to nudge or tip it while drawing, and have to leave the program running for a specific drying time.
...actually, no, that was a joke.

Technical Questions and Answers
Will ArtRage 3 work on my computer?
What operating systems does ArtRage work with?
ArtRage works with Mac, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 2007.
What system requirements will ArtRage 3 need?
Minimal change in spec requirements from ArtRage 2.5 . Studio and Studio Pro will have the same requirements.
Windows:WinXP, Vista, Win7. 256MB memory, 1024 x 768 graphics.
MacOSX:10.4 or later, Intel or PPC, 256MB memory, 1024 x 768 graphics (Quartz)
Will this be the same for Macs?
Not entirely. Quartz graphics support is required for the floating panels.
Will it run on a 64 bit system?
Yes. And ArtRage 2.5 currently does. It is not a 64-bit application, but will run fine
Will ArtRage 3 work with Linux?
There is currently no Linux-specific build, and the Team has nothing to test it on. But it works similarly to the old version (in regards to operating system) so will probably be fine. There will be a demo, and as people find issues and solutions, they'll be published in the Forum.
Will I be able to open ArtRage 2.5 files in ArtRage Studio and Studio Pro? And vice versa?
Yes, the new and the old versions can open and use each other's painting files. Some options and information may be lost when going from Studio Pro to ArtRage 2.5, as the new version has some extra options not available in the old version of ArtRage.
What if I don't have a US-standard keyboard (qwerty) - can I still use it with ArtRage easily?
Does it Work With Graphics Tablets?
Well, yes!
Problem and solution for ArtRage 2.5 is here
Will it support the advanced features in Wacom Intuos3 and Intuos4?
Both ArtRage 2 and 3 support tilt for the airbrush and glitter spray tools, but not currently for other tools. Rotation is not currently supported but they may develop additional support for these features in the future. Thread
Will there be any other changes in support for tablets? Will there be full support for Intuos4's (new) 2,048 pressure levels?
"Ever since ArtRage 1.0 we've supported all the levels of pressure a tablet reports it can use.
When we're initializing the tablet interface we query the tablet for its pressure range, then when we get pressure information we divide the value received by the range to get a real number representation of the pressure, which we then apply to the brush dynamics.
So, yes, we support 2048 levels of pressure."

Beta Tester Artwork
The first paintings in ArtRage 3
Some people were lucky enough, well placed enough, or good enough at bribery to beta test ArtRage 3. And they've started to release their ArtRage 3 paintings! Here are some examples... (click for the original) (and any more of you out there... please link me? :D )

The Ballad of Piggotty Wood
An ArtRage illustrated picture book
In the words of the author and artist:
"...by the time I joined the beta team less than half of the 17 images were done, but ArtRage 3 really sped up the workflow. I then went back and touched up some of the others with AR3 so the majority of it was done with the new software. Specifically, I made my own art brushes for the task, but I won't say any more on that until Ambient have released all the details. Everyone is going to love this version."
The days are dark in Piggotty Wood,
All smoke and ruin where houses once stood.
The meadows beyond where corn used to grow,
Now scavenging fields for carrion crow.
Where once there was sunshine, laughter and fun,
Respect for the old and pride in the young,
Now curdling cries, whispers and lies,
Fire in our hearts and hate in our eyes.
Badger cub Joe was born to a world where good folk are cowed. The subjugation seems impenetrable until one day, a chance encounter with an ancient tree triggers a terrifying set of events.
You can order a copy here, see it announced here and peek at some of the illustrations in the Ambient Design forums here, as well as the early versions.

Zak Zodiak and the Amazing Wheelamajig
A Picture Book Illustrated in ArtRage 2.5 and ArtRage 3
Who says wheelchairs can't be way cool? Zak Zodiak's life is pleasant and predictable, until an eccentric old inventor decides to "fix up" a rusty, ruined wreck of a wheelchair for Zak. When the old man disappears under mysterious circumstances, Zak is left with a parting gift: the newly repaired (but not-quite-right) Wheelamajig.
As Zak soon discovers, the Wheelamajig looks strange, acts even stranger, and takes Zak on the strangest - and most exciting - adventure of his life!
"Zak Zodiak and the Amazing Wheelamajig" is a story of frendship, ingenuity and compassion that will captivate kids with wheels...and those without.
Written by Lisa Hyer Davenport and illustrated by her husband Rob_in_Denver:
"My wife and I have been working on this book over the course of 5 years. We were inspired to write and illustrate it by my great nephew Zak who is now 12, who has muscular dystrophy. He has spent most his life in a wheelchair-yet, playing and roughhousing and being in all other ways like any normal kid. We noted that he had no "hero's" ( at the time it was Buzz Lightyear for him) and thought we should do a book where the main character is in a chair, but has great adventures anyway. We avoided any moralizing about treatment of kids in chairs and instead just let the fun rip as if it made no difference or was even perhaps an improvement on walking on two legs!
We have posted it on Blurb, and elected to sell it at cost, not making a penny. This is in the hopes that it will find its way into the hands of kids who need it. We hope at some point it will be picked up by one of the big non profits who work with kids in wheelchairs."

ArtRage 3 (Studio and Studio Pro).... ? 2009
The Software Release Cycle
* September 2007: work began on ArtRage Studio edition
* December 2008 : first Alpha build of ArtRage Studio edition released to the alpha testers group. (An Alpha build is acts as a proof of technology and workflow).
* March 2009 : first Beta build of ArtRage released. The first Beta was really quite rough, really still Alpha. But Beta builds more closely resemble the final product. They start to pin down the feature set and UI - what does and doesn't work.
* November 2009 - First Release Candidate built. Today! The Release Candidate is considered the 'Finished product' although in reality it's rare to actually release the first Release Candidate. The beta testers are likely to find bugs and the team haven't signed off on all the extra bits and pieces which go into the installer.
* ??? - Gold Master is built. When they're happy that the Release Candidate is as good as it can be, it is called the Gold Master copy. From that they produce what is sold in their online store.

Not sure why, but then on most days I can barely remember my own.... oh, what's that thing you're not supposed to forget when you wake up... Curses. That thing, you know, the thing that you're supposed to say you can barely remember when you wake up. And in saying that you cant remember it it gets a laugh because nobody forgets it, whatever it is. Probably socks. Or underwear. Yeah, that'll be it. When I wake up in the mornings I can bearly remember my own underwear. Now, what was I saying that in relation to? Oh hell...

void SetExpansionPin(const gCRPoint & ptLoc) { m_ptExpansionPin = ptLoc; } // Set the expansion pin location. See above for comments which I can't be arsed typing out again. (Yeah, I could copy/paste them, but you wouldn't respect me for it) (I'm not assuming you respect me now - I'm just saying that copying/pasting the description of the expansion pin again wouldn't earn any more respect). (Mind you I dont really care if you respect me or not anyway. I'm not that insecure. Just lazy. Too lazy to write a decent description of what setting the expansion pin would do and the coordinate space in which it would do it, when I feel you could just read the description above.)

May cause dizziness. Keep out of reach of children (because they leave sticky hand-prints on you). Ever noticed how much small children with a cold resemble glazed donuts? If you see a Llama, you must immediately cry out "Watch out, there are llamas". Are you now or have you ever been? Is it true what they say about Dixie?

void AttachToCanvas(CCanvas * pCanvas); // Saves dicking about having to pass all the parameters for canvas stuff. Yeah, I know, it's bad. Sue me. It's getting close to shipping time and I'm running out of time and patience for niceties like object separation and encapsulation. We have to make a living too - if we dont get this product out the door, we dont eat. So to hell with the niceties - we're doing it the way that's fastest to code. So it means I'll have to spend some time cleaning this up for the next version - tough. If I dont get it out now, there wont BE a next version. So there. Ha!
