Beautiful artwork. I love being an artist and looking at the talent of other artist. I can get lost in a good painting for hours. It calms the soul.

I have ArtRage on my iPad and I'm still figuring it out. I've made lots of art on my iPad to date and some of it I even sell... so if Art Rage is awesome I may buy the full version for my Mac desktop.

I'm still getting to grips with ArtRage. Wanted to say, though, that your Christmas Angel is wonderful and I loved your showcase of what others have done using this program. If only artistic talent was contagious... :)

Don;t you have to have a tablet PC to use ArtRage? Pity
  • Flynn_the_Cat Dec 20, 2009 @ 4:41 pm | delete
Well, you don't HAVE to - but it is quite hard to draw with a mouse! If it was kids and the free version, for example, they could have plenty of fun with just a mouse, but most people will need a tablet to draw properly.

Praise, praise, and more praise to you Flynn_the_cat!!!! You've done an excellent job on educating and communicating the wonderful world of ArtRage on Squidoo! What a wonderful collection of information for all newbies as well as oldies that are using ArtRage! It is evident that you put a lot of time and love into this....it shows!!! Thanks!!!
  • Michal Bradwolff Dec 9, 2009 @ 4:56 pm | delete
Hi everyone first Flynn_the_cat i love your squidoo site. Very cool.

    I have a question about the real-color-blending.
    -Are the primaire colors (red-yellow-blue)?

-Or are the primaire colors (magenta-yellow-cyaan)?
So you can make red(geel and magenta) and blue(cyaan and magenta)

    Thank you very much.
  • Flynn_the_Cat Dec 9, 2009 @ 5:08 pm | delete
Hi Michal. Like most other art programs, it's RGB (red green blue) or HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) The real colour mixing option changes how they affect each other - without it, mixing up different colours produces some lovely results, but not the ones you'd expect from real life.

Sadly, there's no CMYK option. You'll need Photoshop or something for that.
  • michal Dec 9, 2009 @ 5:29 pm | delete
But what is then the real differents between the "usual" and the real blending?
Ok they told yellow+blue = green. (so it is subtractive).
But what is the whole spectrum? RYB is subtractive but also CMYK.

And i talk about blending algoritme and not about options for CMYK.

Bye the way, thanks for your twitter answer. ;)

Thank you! Oh, it is, it is :D
  • susannaduffy Nov 30, 2009 @ 9:54 pm | delete
It certainly seems cheap. Is it easy to use?
  • Flynn_the_Cat Nov 30, 2009 @ 10:09 pm | delete
Extremely. I know of people who've addicted their five year olds to it :D They also are quite interested in getting schools to use it and have kept the requirements down for that reason ^_^

Whether the pictures will be any good depends on the drawing ability, of course :D But it's basically going 'paintbrush! colour!' mix it all up! another colour!'
  • mysticmama Nov 21, 2009 @ 2:59 pm | delete
    Nicely done!
