retweet I've adored Artrage - a digital painting program - since the moment I got my graphics tablet. Actually, no, that's a lie - I bought my tablet because of ArtRage.

DeviantART is one of the major sites around the web for creating an online gallery, and I've been active there for a couple of years now,

It's always been quite special finding other painters using ArtRage - and there seem not be that many of us (compared to Photoshop, for example) and I've decided to gather them all in one place - for my own reference and to give them some acclaim.

There are some amazing painters here - the beauty of ArtRage is its mimicking of traditonal media, and some of these works look like real oil paintings! There are dabblers and sketchers and portrait painters and manga artists and colourful artists and fantasy artists and those who try out everything.

Feel free to check out their work and add yourself if you aren't on here! (Which could be because I forgot you, or it could be I haven't found you yet.)

Most of these works are painted in edition 2.5, with Macs or PC - either the free version or a full ($25) version. A third edition (ArtRage Studio and Studio Pro) was released at the end of 2009.

The Artist Pages

A list of all the ArtRage artists on Deviant art - that I know about. Know of one? ARE one? Drop me a comment in the Add Your Gallery guest box.

Some of these artists work solely with ArtRage; some split it with traditional oils and charcoal and other media; some use it as one of many programs and some run their pictures through multiple programs!
Some haven't been updated in a while - they are here because their galleries have something to learn from. Some update every week!

If you do not wish to be in this list, please drop me a comment here or note me on my Deviantart.

The pictures are the best ArtRage paintings I could find - if you have another work that I missed or was not labelled - or you paint something better! - let me know and I will change it.

If you want a better description feel free to send me a blurb about yourself (I will try and get something better up, but firstly you know yourself best, secondly - it'll take a bit of time, and thirdly I'll like you ^_^)

Staying updated
Feel free to send me links to newer or preferred works, and I'm happy to update yours for you.
Please note - that the image link is NOT the deviation itself. If you edit and update a picture, this page will still show the older version. Again, drop me a comment and I'll update it with the fresh image.

    I've been looking into using ArtRage though I'm curious if it can compare to Photoshop in respect to digital looking art. To me, most art in ArtRage has a more traditional art look to it, and while that's a good quality, I'm sorta looking for something that can do Photoshop looking things without the photoshop price tag.

    For examples, I've made countless backgrounds where I use dodge to brighten a certain area to achieve a certain look that my friend wants. Is that possible in ArtRage?

    Hi, have started using ArtRage relatively recently and absolutely love it. In many respects I find it far superior to photoshop, the only thing its lacking (compared to photoshop) are the in-depth post-production tools - but that's not a terribly big issue if you're coming from a traditional background, and the exceptional "paint" quality blows all complaints out of the water.     i didn't use artrage as much as somehow i can't customize the undo in my tablet.. so that really really frustrating
