Arts and Crafts Party Actvities 

• Here are a few ideas that I used at my daughters arts and crafts party.
• Sneakers
  Decorate plain white canvas sneakers using fabric paints, glue and sequins. the fabric paint that comes in pen form is easiest to work with on small areas.
• Door Sign
  Buy blank signs from a craft store or have hardboard precut to size at your local hardware store and use string to make the hook. Have plenty of small brushes available. I recommend using acrylic paint. Once the paint and glue have dried why not varnish the door signs.
• Alice Band
  Give each girl a cloth-covered Alice band in a neutral color.Let them glue on a selection of different bits and pieces such as silk flowers, bits of lace, glitter, small butterflies and buttons etc.
• Pencil Toppers
  Buy a box of pencils and various colors of molding clay. Children can make animals and other designs for the top of their pencils.
• Mosaic Mirror
  Buy one mirror tile per child. Ask your local hardware store to cut hardboard squares about two and a half inches bigger than the tile, all around. Let the guest glue precut mosaic tiles around the tile and make a nice frame for the mirror.

Sandwich Bar

• In line with the creative theme, let the guests create their own refreshments.
  
  
  Selection of breads
  
• - White or brown sliced bread ( provide an assortment of cookie cutters)


• - Soft hot dog Rolls


• - Mini Pitas



• Selection of Fillings
  
• - Chicken Mayo with walnuts and apple


• - Peanut butter, banana and chocolate spread


• - Bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo


• - Tuna Mayo with avo



• Extra Bits
  
• - Baby tomatoes


• - Selection of Cold Meats


• - Cucumber Ribbons


• - Cut out shapes of cheese slices using cookie cutters



• Drinks
  
• - Place fresh fruit juice mixed with soda water into small bottles with drinking straws and place in a colorful bucket with lots of ice


• - Make surprise ice cubes but freezing edible flowers, leaves or fruit pieces in the ice.

Arts And Crafts Party Birthday Cake 

Paintbrush Cake

• Ingredients:
  
  - Store Bought Vanilla Cake
  - Vanilla Butter Icing
  - Chocolate Butter Icing
  - Selection of Candy
  - Color Syrups
  - Extra Color Icing
  - Palette Knife for Icing
  
  
• Butter Icing:
  
  - 150g butter, softened
  - 2 cups icing sugar, sifted
  - 3 tsps milk
  
  
• Method:
  
  - Beat the butter until white
  - Gradually beat in half the icing sugar
  - Add the milk
  - Beat in the other half of the icing sugar
  - Beat until smooth
  - Chocolate version : add two tablespoons of cocoa and three teaspoons of milk to a quarter of the vanilla icing
  
  
• Assembling the Cake
  
  - Cut the cakes to resemble a paintbrush
  - Ice the bottom part ( the handle) in vanilla icing and the paintbrush tip in chocolate icing
  - Place liquorice strips on the paintbrush tip to resemble bristles.
  - Place small bowls of candy around the platter
  - The cake is now ready for the decoration cake game

Cake decorating

• Turn the birthday cake into a party game. You provide two cakes, icing and decorations, laid out separately.
• The children are divided into two teams, each team trying to make the most beautiful job of decorating the cake.
• But here's the trick: one person for each team is blindfolded and has to do the actual decorating.
• The rest of the team has to guide that person in picking the decorations and putting them into the right place.
• The kids have a really good fun with this game.
