Represent Yourself Online - Tips & Resources for Artists

Ranked #9,205 in Arts & Design, #159,324 overall

Walking the Same Path

If you're like me and have an interest in selling your artwork online, navigating the vast array of resources for artists can be overwhelming.   I created this lens to assist other artists like myself.

It seems like each day there is a new site offering free artist galleries and the option to sell prints of your work, an artist directory offering free listings, a traffic booster that promises to send swarms of visitors to your website and draw in customers, a link exhange program, a networking forum, and various other services.

I've been working at selling my art online since December of 2006, have tried several resources, and continue to explore and research new options.

So by now perhaps you've read through last week's advice column on how to keep from making the most common mistakes when creating your online portfolio (and perhaps you've written in to say how horrified you are that coroflot would suggest using a template, rather than building the whole thing from scratch -- that's fair, there are some good arguments on both sides).
