Welcome to Jfay's world of Artsy Candles! Candle styles as limitless as the imagination, and maybe a few surprises you weren't counting on! Every candle is custom made to order, just for you!

Candles designed with your favorite styles, colors, and fragrances. Styles range from Dramatic and Contemporary, to Adventurous, Fantasy, Girly, Gothic, and many others in-between. Every candle showcased on the Studio 3B website can be made to your specifications and many at no additional fee to you, and that's because they are not pre-made, sitting on a shelf getting old and dusty, but rather made for you upon order.

And since I work with many authors to design candles to accompany their books, you never know what to expect from me next -- candles with bleeding bullet holes, staked in the heart and put in a coffin, or perhaps adorned with beautiful animal print or an eerie moon.

JFAY'S LATEST DESIGN:

RED, Hot, and Sizzling........

That definitely describes this latest work from Jfay, inspired by the very latest sizzling hot story from Internationally Best Selling Author William Maltese, "Ludus Scaenicus Mortis Rubrae", which is a short story featured in MLR Press' Anthology, RED.

Luscious flowing cascades of red wax encase the deep burgandy red to create a stunning showcase of RED. The RED Candle is not only inspired by Mr. Maltese's story, but also makes an appearance in such as "Mistress Jfay" has made them for Prince Prospero in this tale, which pays homage to Edgar Allen Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death."

Here is a short blurb from the story:

The progress of each and every is impeded by the many twists and turns of the Abbey's rabbit-warren maze of rooms, tiny and big corridors, wide and narrow between us and the Imperial Suite. The lighting that accompanies our journey is just as erratic as the interior landscape we traverse. Some spaces have so little that they require either a familiarity or an actual dragging of a hand along one wall to make a successful crossing from one side to the other. In bizarre counterpoint, one of the smallest has seven very impressively large deep-red candles, each a-droll with red-orange wax, and smelling - to my surprise at Mistress Jfay, Candle-maker to the Prince, and me possibly sharing a similar passion - of blood-red oranges; the septet's combined candle power is sufficient to illuminate a whole auditorium.

But alas! Prince Prospero is not the only lucky soul to possess such a beautiful candle..... For you may also inquire of Mistress Jfay to make the same for you.... And as the story reads, the RED Candle is scented in Blood Orange, Jfay's unique blend of Sparkling Mandarin Tangerine, Orange, and Pomegranate, a rich and luscious scent indeed.....

A Tribute To Nature

Nature is truly beautiful and awe inspiring, so I suppose it is only natural (no pun intended) that I would gain much inspiration for candle designs from its beauty and majesty.

Hello, I'm Candle Artist Jfay of Studio 3B and artistic candles are my passion. I love creating unique and eye-popping designs by hand. I am priviledged to work with many authors as well to design candles to accompany their books, like a waxy illustration of sorts. Many of my designs are inspired by nature and others by patterns or images I see, while others are inspired by dreams. I also love working with individuals and designers to create the perfect look for a certain room or decor, or for a special gift. I am happy to share my passion with you.

The Artist Challenge

I'm very happy to be a part of The Artist Challenge. It's a group of artists that are actually put to the challenge every month with a central theme in which to create a work of art.

I'd like to share a couple of my works that I entered for the two themes "Unrequited Love" and "The Fool".

I am now working on a new design for the next challenge which is Sun Art for The CBS Morning Show -- I'm nervous about this one, as it has a possibility of being shown on air! But I'll post a picture of the outcome once I've completed my design.

The Unrequited Love Candle was designed to show the heartbreak of one who's love has gone unfounded.

And the Blood Revenge Candle which was submitted for "The Fool" Challenge is actually themed after Sweeney Todd, who's revenge lead him to foolishly kill his beloved in which he was exacting revenge for her death.

Remember the Hansel and Gretel Fairy-Tale? The Old Witch who lured children in with her home made of Gingerbread and Candies? Well, if you do, and if you are a fan of that story, as well as other Fairy-Tales, you're in for, well, let's say, a big treat!

MURDERS IN FASHION.

Excerpt From FLICKER: Teen Warrior Saga

The cavern in which she enters has a niche filled with a large stack of candles. Somehow she suspects, it all has something to do with her mother who makes candles as a hobby.

Automatically, she pulls one conveniently placed candle from the pile. She stands it upright on an adjacent block of stone. From the pocket of her robe, she produces a lighter and sets fire to the wick.

Resulting shadows flicker the wall. The candle shimmers in distorted light and darkness to - quite miraculously - seem to assume human form: a girl, no older than Melissa, with long dark hair. She wears a long blue robe. Her mouth moves, but there's no sound.
