Presenting the Trance Goddess: Aruna

Aruna Abrams, whose musical journey dates back many years, took different turns in life to promote her music. Starting with metal, then turning to pop & rock, and eventually finding her own place in EDM (Electronic Dance Music). Currently working on many tracks, Aruna has a divine beautiful voice - it is hard not to notice her.

Biography

Aruna Abrams was born January 16th in Flemington, New Jersey. Since early on, Aruna always loved music. She attended Hunterdon Central Regional High School in her hometown New Jersey. In 1994, she became a part of a metal band Cynic, which sprung up from the original band Portal. This group did not last long, and disbanded soon after. Aruna attended Berklee College of Music to study Music Synthesis and Film Scoring. She left her college to move to Florida for a while to pursue her music career. Not too long after, she went back to finish college and get her degree. After college, she decided to move to California to pursue her career there. In 2001, Aruna recorded her first 3-track EP "Broken Circles" with the help of Allain Mallet. Her first debut album Running Red Lights was released in 2004 but did not make it high into the charts. In 2005, Aruna contributed in writing the song "I Got Nerve" for the popular tv show Hannah Montana. This was a big breakthrough for Aruna as she was ready to give up. In 2007, she was approached by The Thrillseekers to create a trance song. And since then, as they say, is history..

Broken Circles (2001)

In 2001, Aruna got a chance to release a short 3-track EP titled "Broken Circles" with the help of Alain Mallet, and was mixed by the Grammy-award winning engineer Kevin Killen. On this EP, Aruna shows her sultry, sexy voice, and is accompanied by pop rock music.

Running Red Lights (2004)

In 2004, Aruna released her first full length solo album titled "Running Red Lights", a pop/rock album containing 9 songs. The troubles of getting this album promoted well, was because the $20,000 that have been given for promotion of this album have not been used well. The album didn't make it big.

Electrified (2008)

This is probably the LEAST known Aruna song around. It was either never publicized well, or it just didn't hit it off too well. As for me, this track is okay, the others are definitely much better. It was released on Metallic Recordings, but so little information is found... In case you were wondering, this is a collaboration with Double Agents.

Now Or Never (Jun-23-2008)

Released on Armada, Aruna is part of DJ Shah's compilation Songbook. It is a double album, from which the first disk provides all original mixes, and disk two provides all acoustic mixes to the same tracks on the first disk. These two tracks sound almost the same either way, but it is a nice track by Aruna.

My Saving Grace (May-1-2009)

Sounds familiar? It should. The original version of this track "Saving Grace" was released on Aruna's 2004 album Running Red Lights. ATB - a renown German DJ created some magic with this track. From a pop rock version to the most beautiful song in the world. Literally. Her voice is so divine, the sounds are beautiful. This my friends, is the best track in the whole wide world!! Don't miss out :)

Helpless (Sept-14-2009)

Ashley (Oct-28-2009)

A rather interesting track called "Ashley" is a collab with Filo & Peri. It was released in 2009 on Vandit Records. The single includes only 4 remixes, and if you search for Aruna on YouTube, she's done a great job with her Red Room Sessions (only accompanied by a piano) of this track.

Together they formed a project titled Velvetine, and this is their first single. Very catchy, breathy, beautiful track. What more would we want? (Besides another track). The Hot List

A brand new Trance podcast is here!!

Starting in September 2011, Aruna began her own trance podcast. The podcast includes 10 songs that are currently popular, from which one is "The Fire Starter" to start up the heat, and the last track is always "Slow Burner" a mellow, downtempo, slow track to cool off. At first, The Hot List with Aruna was hosted every month, but starting in January 2012, Aruna has announced that her radio show will be every two weeks. In her podcast, Aruna includes her own upcoming tracks as well as her own mashups that she created. If you'd like to be up-to-date with brand new trance releases, then The Hot List is for you :-) Enjoy.

All Around You / Free Falling (Oct-2011)

Aruna was approached by a German DJ duo Cosmic Gate, and together they released two more singles on their brand new album Wake Your Mind. "All Around You" not only features Aruna and Cosmic Gate, but also Myon & Shane 54. It was released on October 24, 2011 on the regular version of Wake Your Mind. Aruna was also given one of the instrumental CG tracks "Barra" and was asked to write lyrics. From there, "Free Falling (Barra)" was created. The special edition of the album including this song (on iTunes only) was released October 31st, 2011.

Live Forever (May-14-2012)

Back in 2009, Aruna wrote a song for herself as a solo artist but it was put away. Last year, 2011, when she heard that Ferry Corsten was working on his fourth studio album, Aruna knew that he was the perfect DJ to go to and offered a collaboration.

"Live Forever" was introduced at a live set in September 2011, since then it was a waiting game for Ferry's release of his brand new album WKND. His album has only one track collab with Aruna, but her divine voice is just beautiful.

01. Live Forever (Original Extended Mix) 6:48
02. Live Forever (Michael Woods Remix) 06:49
03. Live Forever (Shogun Remix) 07:33
