The TV shopping business has seen an annual increase in sales of about 10 percent.
TV shopping also has played a key role in turning out a number of popular products. While sales in supermarket and department store chains have been on the decline, TV home shopping mall operators are making inroads as newcomers to the retail business.
DVDs of "Billy's Boot Camp," a military-style exercise program made in the United States, became a hit due to a TV home shopping program. From the time it was released in July 2006 to September last year, 1.5 million sets of the DVD and exercise machines were sold, and are still proving popular.
Oak Lawn Marketing Inc., a Nagoya-based TV home shopping operator, introduced the DVDs to Japan after adopting a proposal from an employee at the firm's product purchasing division who had noticed the great popularity of the exercise kit in the United States.

Many celebrities stand behind and endorse these products. Infomercials advertise many types of products such as exercise equipment, fitness, diet, weight loss, health, beauty, kitchen items, toys, gadgets and more. We've all seen these ads and most of us have some of these products in our homes. How can you not want to give these items a try?
A number of celebrities endorse these products. One product that has been around for a while is The Thighmaster, endorsed by Suzanne Somers. She also endorses other exercise machines, beauty products, and even appliances. Suzanne has made a real impression in the infomercial world. Celebrities definitely help these As Seen On TV products to sell. These are people we can relate to and if they're endorsing a product and putting their name to the infomercial product it must be worth buying, right?
