Quality Education for Children in East Africa

Asante Africa Foundation believes that every child deserves an education and the opportunity to choose their future, regardless of where they are born. For the children we help in East Africa, education is critical to their escape from a future of poverty. Since 2007 we've maintained a Squidoo presence with the lens, Would You Trade Your Daughter for a Cow? On November 7, 2009 we were excited to hear that Asante Africa Foundation was approved as a Squidoo Charity partner!

Every member of the Asante Africa Foundation support team is a volunteer, from the Board of Directors on down. Now, thanks to our partnership with Squidoo, it will be possible to raise additional funds for our ambitious projects in the Kenya and Tanzania communities we serve. How can you help? It's simple. Create a Squidoo lens and assign the royalties to Asante Africa Foundation, or add a Donation Module to any lens and choose Asante Africa Foundation from the pull-down menu of nonprofit organizations.

Send Your Squidoo Lens Royalties to Asante Africa Foundation

type=textThe lens Would You Trade Your Daughter for a Cow? was written four years ago, and since that time I've received more than a hundred private messages from people asking how they can help Asante Africa Foundation. Most of these messages have been from people unfamiliar with Squidoo, and for whom the prospect of making a lens (especially that first one!) can be a bit daunting.

Did you know that your lens can be on any topic? That's right! You can share a favorite recipe, review a book or movie, create a quiz, write about a favorite local restaurant, sell items from your eBay store or CafePress store. The possibilities are endless, as you will see by visiting and interacting with other Squidoo lenses. You'll get the hang of things pretty quickly.

Seasoned lensmasters can help too! Just add a Donation Module to any of your existing lenses and choose Asante Africa Foundation from the pull-down menu. All donations from the module go directly to Asante Africa Foundation via Paypal. Even a dollar helps—it's enough to feed a class of nursery school students for one day!

What a great lens about the Asante Africa Foundation. SquidAngel blessed. I am also making a lens (My Squid Angel Memorial Day Weekend Bus Trip Quest) on my SquidAngel Quest and I'll feature your lens there. Come and visit in a couple of days.

This is helpful to children who could not afford to go to school and those away from the city. Through this project, many children would be educated. good job!

Kim, thank you for the remarkable contributions that you have down throughout your term with Squidoo. You have been a wonderful example for everyone. And, you have most definitely created a legacy to be proud of ... FYI, I will need to create a lens or two to show my support for this fine charity. Glad you were instrumental in having it established here on Squidoo. Bravo!
